Life has taught me never to loan money to friends or family unless I'm willing to give it as a gift. Rarely does it end well if there is an expectation of repayment.

I don't ask for favors and will only accept them when I know I can/will either pay them or pay them back. The fact that they even offer puts good will in the bank.

More often than not, I limit my favors to folks that are always helping others or have offered help to me whether I take the help or not. Sometimes I offer a favor/help to someone just because I like the cut of their jib or because their project interests me.

All that does not mean I am not a charitable person. I do help the truly needy when and where I can, but will shun the freeloader.

Lynne I feel for ya. Have to say given the agreement made at the time you lent her the money, 8 years is a long time to wait for drips and drabs. Then to see that person spending the money they should have paid me on things not required to live? Been there, done that. At least I didn't have to see them at work every day.

I agree 100%. Been there done that. All of it. Won't go into details but I hate repairing other people junk they haven't bothered to take care of and are not happy about the price or try and rig it to get by. Spent a lot of time and money collecting tools to do the job right the first time. In fact my Wife and I have come to the decision to shut down my business and work on my projects for a change. Then once we get the MH remodeled we are going to use the heck out of it.
I have a full drawer in my tool box that holds nothing but fuel line tools!
I refuse to loan money to anyone. I will give it, before I loan it. I tell everyone who has asked that there are Banks who make a living loaning money and I am not a Bank. Yea,I learned the hard way on that.
I was married to a dysfunctional family like that years ago. I kept my distance as much as possible. Lucky for me my wife found a Con Man and divorced me for him (28 years ago in fact). Now she and all her family drama are someone else's problem. :Happy Dance:
New Family is SOOO much better.
Oh almost forgot to say, my Step Son is in the Garage Door Business and he works with a lot of Ex Con's. They make good livings being self employed. Course it helps if they have good work ethics! Step Son owns a 4 million dollar a year Company! Some of his Contractors make over $100G's a year. So there is work for Ex Con's if they are willing to work for their money!

Bacon and something for breakfast. Really doesn't matter what as long as there is bacon. And coffee.

One day closer to being free of this S&B.

Have a great day everyone

Dang how ironic! That's exactly how my morning went. Bacon and Coffee! We're getting rain most of the day today. Need a lot more though. Our local lake is still down 22 feet . Glad I didn't by Lake Front Property!

LOL - Curtis I could not resist a quick quip. Hope you get just the right amount of rain. If you had lake front property and got too much rain would your house be a boat?? LOL

I think the man is delusional, I would never feel so helpless that I would be satisfied sitting around moaning about life. He has a felony for DWI not for murder, I for one would not give that a thought! He has the skills to fix things and if he gets that car on the road he could do handyman work or something to make a living, I know I did. In my 59 1/2 years I have worked for others maybe 3 times for short periods to get myself together and start another venture on my own. I must be independent or I am not happy! Bobby

Seems to me I'm hanging out, so to speak, with a good group of folks. Hope to run into all of you out there on the trail.

OK, back to work on the S&B

I for one could go for that! I'm already weighing closing my glass shop in NY and doing this for a while! I know if I built a house down here i'd have to do a one up on these Lanais' I see around here and have one built out of storefront material to stay out of the sun! Oh man, was that me bit***** about the cold and snow 2 weeks ago???LOL! Bobby

Jay,
Good philosophy, I agree with the good group. Hope to meet Bobby this weekend and Lynne and Terry this summer. Since we move around some, I will let you know what part of the country we are planning on heading ahead of time and if you are near that area, holler and we will try to meet up.
Curtis,
I like your thought process also, a lot of good thoughts there, and I agree with Terry, I miss my garage, but not the ex or the weather up north.
Frank

Morning,
Currently,
27+
feels like 17+
Sun Up and shining,
Snow Monday
Mountain Grown This AM.
Opened all the awnings to dry out but weren't all that wet.
Worked in the yard yesterday, Have to get that going. Couldn't get the tiller to fire up, 20 years and a first. No spark. Bummed, I hate when that happens.
Saw the neighbor take off already this am for his cabin. Won't have to listen to him all day
Have the 64 up for sale. A few lookers but no takers... Had the itch so bad looking at her in the drive all day, I had to go around the block well actually 2 blocks. I'll hate to see her go, but I would need a 30 foot trailer, for her to be our toad.
Slept 6 hours last night a first in months. Feeling pretty dang Good I must say.!!!
Must of been the yard work Lots of our spring flowers are up.
It is the 2nd day of Spring
All those that are South and thinking of heading home back North , Don't not yet.
Hey Terry how's the knee?
That's it for me,
Have a great day!
Tim
