We're feeling a little guilty about the good news on dad when we realize not everyone is so fortunate. We hope everyone else that has medical issues or has someone they care dearly about ill finds the good fortune we have.

I made a couple of videos of dad in charge of the walk around the ward. The RN who only has two patients was helping with the drip pole and the physical therapist had their hands full keeping up with dad on his first walk. Nurse said something about wanting a video to show fifty and sixty year olds wussing out how it was supposed to be done, by a ninety year old.

The echo cardiogram showed improvement since the implant. What was cool about that is Best Thing has had about eight of them in the last six months (echocardiograms) but never got to see what the tech was seeing. The tech giving dad his was very generous showing her everything and explaining in detail too.

We're hoping dad will get booted out from ICU tomorrow and we can take him home Thursday. The reason for keeping him in ICU is the lung drain and some of the high power meds.

I had stepped out for a phone call and when I came back in the surgeon was getting an ear full about the 30" gas line they had left in dad's lung. I don't thing the surgeon had ever heard a drain described quite like that. He handled it pretty good though. Surgeon pointed to me and claimed I was the one to blame. I'm sure the nurses and assistants don't get the circus we had going with dad, the surgeon, and myself playing off of each other with such glee. The surgeon calls dad Double 0 because of the goal to see 100th birthday.

Dad let me know tonight he wanted me to start looking for his travel trailer for the mountains this summer. And we're all making plans for this coming winter in Yuma. I'm excited about the new shop we're going to build, Best Thing and dad are threatening to wear out the pavement walking their lives away.

Once again I apologize for having so much good fortune. It's not earned but still very much appreciated.

Good Morning Everyone;
Things are looking great.

Glad Harvey is up, about and enjoying the new valve. Always good to hear success stories.

Debbie must be feeling better. We got up this morning to see the jeep is gone so I expect they are out with the rest of the "Jeepers" exploring the newly washed desert. I wonder if they will be returning with significant mud on the vehicle?

Hope everyone has a great day.

Afternoon,

Another beautiful sunny 64* day! I am wondering at this point when we go back to winter if anyone will just break down and cry.

The good thing is this is just like spring so when spring comes again after bad weather again we will have had two springs this year. Now, that is good news.

Hope all are doing well. harv, I have watched many older patients just kick the pants off the younger ones. It isn't unusual for our 80 and 90 yr old patients to have the best stress tests for the day. We Love IT!

Been watching the rain out in CA and the flooding they are having. A state that normally is dry and is overflowing right now. Hope the rain stops soon and they can keep some of that moisture in the right places. Prayers out to all of them.

We are probably going to get the Michelin tires since we cannot find the Somotoma??? Not sure if these are just found farther south than here. We really don't want to play with tires on a vehicle but especially the MH.

Got a lot of cleaning done today. Spring cleaning! The warmth tends to motivate you a little. Took the cat in for shots and deworming Saturday. All tests came back clear but she did have worms. Will take her back in a few weeks for a booster and another worm shot.

Well, I am going to go outside again while it lasts. I think the geese are confused too because they are heading back North.

Lynne

Hello all. Hoping for healing for those ailing. Weather has been warm here, more warm than usual. 88 today, normal is around 64. Got the house in Taylor leveled, now for the new windows and central heat and air. House is 97 years old and I hope to restore it back to period correct. Leaving shiplap on interior walls where I am able. Quite the experience. Still need to bring MH to Taylor and take to repair shop to have radiator and intercooler taken out and refurbished. And oil change, filters, new belts and hoses, water pump, thermostat. Got to get her ready for Meet & Greet in August. Been working on taxes and such today and will take a break tomorrow and work on house.l ☺

Beautiful spring day!!

Stepped outside today and it was so nice at 50degrees. Decided to clean up my front yard, driveway and side of house. Looks so nice even though we cleaned up in the fall. Monday DH got the emergency brake fixed on the truck. Told mechanic he had to add a little brake fluid. Master cylinder is old? Yesterday and today he found a brake fluid leak. Managed to carefully drive over to our mechanic. Left the truck for repairs...too dangerous to drive. "It is only a few car payments in repairs". Glad we didn't break down while towing or end up on the side of the road. DH finished putting up the dry wall for the sound booth at church. Tomorrow DH and I will get the back yard raked up. Our chain link fence doesn't go all the way to the ground so we get the leaves from neighbors on both sides. Got an estimate on replacing our back patio with concrete. We'll see how we do with our $. How come your wish list is always bigger than your $? Lynn...I thing FMCA has a discount for Michelin tires with membership. Can't hurt to check it out. Take care sam

Good Morning Everyone! Coffee was good today!

Lynne, i quoted this from Sam-3 post, ".I thing FMCA has a discount for Michelin tires with membership. Can't hurt to check it out. Take care sam"

Yes they do, and the discount will more than pay for the savings! They also just started to give a discount for Continental Tires as well, and they would be my choice over the Michelin's!
The Toyo Tires are also a better choice than the Michelin's!
Can you see the pattern here?
Michelin tires are (IMHO) overpriced, and (IF) you have no problems, are OK, but, I for one of the many, has had extensive damage from a blowout on a five year old Michelin, on one of my previous MH's, which I took care of, showed no signs of cracking sidewall, and the pressure's were always checked, before a trip! Luckly, the insurance paid for the damage to the coach, but it was still a hassle, and loss of use while it was being fixed!
In my trucking career, i ran a lot of different tires, including Michelin's, and only had a few blowouts, and those were on tires that came already on a piece of equipment that I bought, and had no idea of their history.
My opinion on MH tires is they will age out, way before you wear them out, so not paying a top dollar price, that you won't recover because you will not get your "moneys worth" out of them!
In trucking, I would get 350,000 miles or more out of a set of 8 drive tires, in 3 or 4 years! The steer tires way less, and around 75,000 to 100,000 miles and i would replace them! I would sell them to a buddy of mine that hauled grain to town, and he would run them out on his trailer! I was a firm believer in buying matched set's of tires for my trailer also, and the best one's I found were Continental Tires! And were made in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, which was a big plus for me also!
The tire choice is something that will always be debated to death, what works for one person, does not for another one!
Fuel was my biggest expense, with tires being right up there too!

Todd, i thought it was a 1962 Comet, My bad! I guess it was because we had 2 of the 64 Comet's when i was growing up! Enjoy, non the less!!

Everyone have a great day! Rail!

Good Morning Everyone;
Up earlier than normal this morning. Janet is heading out with some of her Red Hat chapter to Phoenix to see menopause.

I on the other hand being without adult supervision will go over to help a friend install a new water pump in his house. Upgrading the pump to a larger capacity model to get the flow up.

Cooler here for the next few days. 51 at the moment, down 2 degrees from when I first got up. Last couple days have been perfect.

Going to have a grand day. Hope your day is the same.

Morning all!

Yup, we found mud. Not a lot, but Rubi is muddy.

Deb is doing better, but not 100%. Yestreday I have a touch of it, but nothing like she had. I'm better this morning.

I agree tires can be debated all day long.

Harvey, I'm really happy Dad is doing well. I am cheering for him to make 100!

Have a great day all!

L.

Good Morning All,

The coffee here at the hospital where they have dad is not quite the strong stuff I prefer, but good none the less. This morning they pulled what dad not so affectionately referred to as the 30" gas line drain in his left lung. The only thing they have him hooked up to at this time is some oxygen. They're waiting for a bed to come available in the step down area just outside the doors to the ICU. And, wonderful and of the very best kind, we should be able to pick him up tomorrow and take him home. Since we're heading back to Dallas Saturday morning that would be perfect timing.

Dad has some notoriety here because of his age and ability to bounce back/recover so quickly. They will miss him I'm sure.

We appreciate the support and now can maybe get back to the RV life (working on the RV most of the time).

Y'all are appreciated.

Again more good news. Always great to hear a success story especially if you know them. Looking forward to hearing Harvey is home.

Good evening all!

Been busy lately and have not been online.

Glad to see that we have some good news about recovery. Wishing you well on that.

Loyd, your jeeping escapades make me jealous. I am going to get a jeep when the time comes to make a towing change...

Lynne, new tires are better than old tires... Good luck on that purchase.

Have not seen any posts from Frank lately, I assume he is just bust in the park stuff... Hope all is well.

Enjoy life all!

Ted
