Question Hall GTC

Owner of a 74 Hall GTC, and new member, here looking for other Hall owners to see about info sharing. This might be a long shot since there were only 200 of them made, but you never know.

For those not familiar with these rigs, they were produced by Hall Coach Company in So Cal in 1973 - early 74 - based on a Dodge B-300 extended wheelbase chassis and 360. These are one piece fiberglass units with a heavy outer shell, foam core with steel frame members and an innner glass liner. The Hall company was run by John Hall, the guy behind Revcon, and the son (or stepson) of the founder of Airstream - and the general design approach shows similarities with both makes. Aside from a couuple nice photos of one on Flikr, there is virtually no mention of them on the internet.

Thanks,

Matt Tritt

Hi Al Johnston here from Washington states desert country. I have a 74 Hall. It is not original as I have had to replace the fridge, furnace and propane tank. I am taking the dinnett out and opening that up with different options. I have just put new flooring and carpet in adn we are working on the drapes tonight.
Would love to see what your's looks like and I willg et some pictures of ours. It needs paint and maybe someday I will get that done.

Wow. It worked!

Hi Al,

Sure, I'll be happy to share some photos with you - maybe tomorrow. I'm attempting to keep mine as original as possible, but it also has a second fridge in it - an "Elixir" made by Sanyo(?) in the early 80's. This is a 3-way with propane, 12 and 115 volt sources and, nock on wood, still works like a champ. My wife just completed sewing a new set of curtains for ours (coincindence), after I made new curtain slides out of Apitong - an Indonesian hardwood that's perfect for the application.

I'm in the process of installing a 4 barrel carb and manifold to go with the headers that came with the rig when I got it. Not original, but more power on the hills is what we need around here - and I'm hoping for better mileage as well. I actually like the convertible dinette a lot, and hope to keep it. What are you going to do with the one you removed?

I'll send some pics and you can have a look.

Great o meet a fellow Hall owner!

Matt
