Head light upgrade
I have a 1989 chevy P30 chassis motorhome and would like to have a little more light shinning down the road at night. Have any of you upgraded your stock sealed beam lights to something better/brighter? I have the 4 light system

Get yourself the led version of sealed beams.

I don't have an rv but I did retrofit them into one of my trucks. Mine are 4x6 and they came from oracle lighting. But there are many led options on eBay for led sealed beam lights.

led's are bright enough for driving??

I feel like this is some kind of trick question lol!! But yes, yes they are more than bright enough for driving. If your rv has the quad headlights you could turn night into day.

Just the headlamp relay kit. I bought the H-4 lamps from Amazon. With only the H-4 lamps it was still dangerous driving at night. Relays and big wires makes the big difference.

I agree that LED may be bright enough, but I think the question is, is it legal. LED has no focus point. Inotherwords it just lights everything, people will be ticking you off at night. Headlamps has focus points. RV- Go with big wires and relays first, then if you want brighter get some H-4 or similar headlamps.

The housings that the led lights come in are designed to not blind other drivers. In the 8 months they've been in my truck I've never been high beamed by anyone. They don't scatter light like hid's do in stock housings without projectors. Again my recommendation is for the led lights, no need to rewire the rig to send more power to antique halogens.

Ever seen a 2015 f150 with led headlights or a motorcycle with led headlights? In the right housing they are perfectly fine same thing for hid's. I'm a lighting fanatic and there are way better things out there then old halogen bulbs.

Deano56. If you've done some pricing on LED headlights you'll quickly see that a set of 4 LED headlights will be a large sum for an old gasser motorhome. You probably have better things to spend your money on.
Leesdx1 has the best advice. Look into a new headlight wiring harness with relays. That will put full voltage to your headlights and be the best bang for your buck. EBay is your friend. If you still need more light after that then look into an H4 housing & bulb conversion.
