Anyone know what these might have come from? Someone told me an older Peterbuilt

Looks completely different than the metal bezels I'm seeing for all the 80s Peterbilts. After looking at a picture of the LeSalle I think they were made for it, not pulled from something else, but that's just my guess.

If you plan on making a set out of wood, you might try vacuum forming a pair using ABS sheet. The hard part is making the plug which you would be doing anyways when making a pair out of wood. Google vacuum forming abs and you'll find lots of information on how to vacuum form your own panels.

If woodworking is your passion, then making new vacuum forming bezels will be just up your alley. The vacuum box that you need to build is most often built out of wood. The frame for holding the plastic sheet while heating is made out of wood. The only steps not made out of wood is connecting the shop vac and heating the abs.

looks very similar, but now way to tell other than having one. I have only one since i ruined the other with paint striper

^ ^ ^ Sorry too hear that, I just used steel wool (0000) and primed it and spray bombed it with Rustolium (sp) Pretty good match considering.

so I use my existing bezel to make my mold? Maybe I will do this, just for fun and it might actually be less work, specially rounding the inside corners from being square

Yes. You want to make a plug inside your current bezel. It was most likely formed using vacuum forming, so you want to try to make an identical plug. You can use anything that can withstand 250 F and wont buckle under the vacuum forming process. You don't want to use your current bezel as the plug, as the finished part will be too big.

Looking this over in light of videos, I'm not to confident about doing this because of the center part being higher than the outside.
