Headlight lens cleaner

Has anyone found a Plastic headlight lens cleaner that actually works and keeps them clear and will not cost an arm and a leg???

I used a 3M kit that I purchased at NAPA and been very pleased with the results and it's been over 2 yrs. now.

All the auto parts (Autozone,Oreilys,etc) carry the kits now. They are under $15 and work pretty well and are not too hard to do.

I used toothpaste on my 93 monaco and the toothpaste took a great deal of dirt and yellowing off of the lens. The lenses still are not perfectly clear but the price is definitly right. There are videos on utube. Seeing is believing. The best way to remove all film and dirt is to wet sand the lenses using a very fine grit paper.

3M Kit works, used it on a 1999 Toyota Truck headlights, worked great..... just take your time and don't rush

I bought the Turtle wax kit based on what the salesman at the auto parts store told me. He said it is the most popular seller and they have never had a return of complaint, it was 10.00. I tried it on the grand cherokee lights with just the clarifier and they look great, on the rv however by just using the clarifier itself with an old T shirt turned them a lighter shade of yellow, I will have to use the 4 series of scrubbing sponges that came with it to get them real clear again.
The clarifier is a thick white liquid with just a hint of a rubbing compound in it. Rubbing it between my fingers I can almost feel the grit. The sponges are like a 1000 grit sandpaper and each one is finer then the other and they are used with the clarifing stuff.

Once you get then as clear as you want you have to wear a pair of plastic gloves to apply the sealer and that takes 24 hours to cure and they said to do that in the shade. this process should keep the lens clear for about a year or two

Just be prepared to spend about twice the time polishing as the package states

I've found that gel-gloss works real well cleaning and polishing the headlights on our coach.

yea, like going to a store and the clerk greets you with,"I'll be with you in just a second" we all know that means 5 or ten minutes
