Help! Looking for Air Brake Part!
I have an Elite 40 ft deisel pusher. The vacuum check valve has broken. The part has been manufacture discontinued! The Haldex part number is KN23090. Without this part I have no brakes, no throttle control and no way to engage the automatic transmission, not to mention turn off the engine! I am now stranded at an RV park and don't know what to do.
No alternate part is listed by Haldex!
Any one have any ideas? I hope?
Thanks

Welcome to iRV2 .
I'm more than a little confused .
Diesel , and vacuum are two words that usually don't go together.
Haldex builds air compressors for diesel engines.
So a vacuum check valve , is not what I expect to be required in a diesel motor home.
Do they build vacuum pumps too ?
I will research the part number , but I'd ask you to post a picture of the part.

The part is between the primary air tank and the secondary/governor tank. The part appears to prevent loss of air from the primary tank. Unless of course it has broken in half. Not sure how to post a picture. I will if I can figure that out.

For info on posting , this link will help .
Remember to resize any photo ; 640 pixels works fine for me.

I'll go through my air system diagram to see if there is an alternate name for a valve in the location you describe.
EDIT , I see you figured things out while I was typing .

Air system parts in the location you describe , are just labeled " check valves " in my diagrams .
What chassis is your coach built on ?
Year ?

I'd ask if you've taken this part into a parts store that deals with highway rigs and seen in the can cross reference it to a Bendix check valve ?
The major differences , are going to be ; inlet/outlet thread sizing .
Pictures are of Haldex KN 23080 on the right and Bendex Ben800375 on the left.

Just in case you're viewing my last post I won't try to edit it.
Honest these online photos are listed under the part numbers , and are of the same part .
Probably the same offshore supplier.

Yes was at Fleetsupply parts yesterday, once they saw original part was MDed they were clueless and offered no help at all. I have a call into Gullig now, guy at lunch, trying to see about a replacement part. Have found both your above parts online also, just trying to confirm they will work.
Thanks for your help!

Update to Air Brake Parts
After talking with both Haldex and Gillig tech people I found out by tracking down the connection off the vacuum check valve its purpose! Its was a modification made by PO to allow an air connection for filling tires and also to supply air to the air horn! To get back on the road I simply by-passed this modification!
Thanks for the help. Hope this update might help another person....
Soon I may be able to help others with problems on older deisel pushers.
I have learned a lot in the last 3 months, not all my problems have been remedied, but I now am familiar with LOTS of issues and look forward to sharing with everyone I can!
Thanks again! I really think this site is GREAT!!!
