HELP!!! Toilet leaking

We are full timing in a 1987 Pace Arrow. Has an Aqua Magic Galaxy SL SH toilet. The toilet is leaking every time we flush it. DH tightened water connection and that didn't work. It appears as though when the water swirls around the top of the bowl, it leaks onto floor. Do we have to replace toilet or is there an easy fix? Thanks for any help you can give.

Ours did the same thing (1982 Pace Arrow) ours was clean water at least. It was the vacum valve, I think it was like $35.00, might as well get the flange gasket too. Its in the rear of the toliet so you will need to take it off the floor. 2 Bolts, 1 inside the top there is a access cap, pop that off and you will see it, the other you can get from the rear. I was glad as we had just bought it and really wanted to have it really cleaned good. I used Bleach White (yes for tires) and Dawn and the garden hose in the back yard and looks like new. You might find it easier to remove the toliet seat too. If you google Therford(sp) and look in there search "Vacum Valve" it will show you the part and part number. CW has them. We order ours from a RV dealer.
Total job with good cleaning was about 1-1/2 hours, tops. Let me know if you have a problem I have the Brochure. You can also find a how too Video
Good Luck, Tim

Is the water actually coming out of the bowl or is it the water valve leaking? Or is it the seal under the toiler?

You really do need to know where the water is coming from to know which piece or part needs to be replaced or adjusted. There are lots of easy fixes for RV toilets depending upon the actual issue.

Deb,

Without seeing it, there is no way to know where the leak really is.

That vintage pot fails the flush water valve quite regularly and particularly if it is not winterized right. This is not hard to replace, but it is a 40$ part. The first thing you have to do is get a mirror and watch what happens behind the toilet when the flush water valve is opened. Then you need to go to the Thetford site and get the instructions on how to remove it. (hint - lloong extension and a deep socket for one and the other in in the front 1/6 of a turn at a time.)

Mine was the vac valve and the hose that squirts the rim too.
