Hello,

I just purchased a 28' Gulfstream Sun Stream with a GM 484 engine. I am trying to find out more about the chassis. DOes anyon know if this is a work horse type chassis? Any info would help.

Thanks

Your rig has the Chevy P30 (sometimes referred to as the P30/32) chassis. Used extensively up through the mid 90s on Class A's.

Its a P30/32 GM chassis with the 454.
P30 Chevrolet Motorhome Chassis Manual

That link will provide many answers.

While the Chassis Service Guide Ragingbull referenced provides a lot of information you also need the 2 volumn set of Chassis Service Manuals. Vol 1 P/N is ST-330-YY. Vol 2 is ST-333-YY. For both YY reperesents a 2 digit year (84 or 85). Each book covers C, K, and P series Light trucks (bundles). Because motorhome Mfg's would build the current year model on either a chassis from the previous year or the current year, you need to locate your chassis VIN number so you can acquire the correct books. The least expensive manual set is on CD ROM by Bishko. You want the Light Duty Truck books, not the S-10, Medium Duty or Hheavy Duty books.

84 - Bishko Automobile Liturature available for 1984, Chevytruck, Shop Manual

85 - Bishko Automobile Liturature available for 1985, Chevytruck, Shop Manual

Dave

Thanks for the help everyone. I thought It would be a P30 but since I am new to Class A RV's I thought I would make sure. Ragingbull: I stumbled across this doc just yesterday. Lots of good information. Dave78Chief : that’s a great find. Defiantly my next purchase.
