HWH Levelers spring kit source

I sent an e mail to HWH asking questions about my system and got a call from Frank at HWW. During our conversation I asked for a local dealer that carried the spring kits and he said I could order them right from HWH. I said how much is the R1171 Spring kit and he came back with 17.65 each, What? I almost broke my arm getting my CC card out. Everyone else wanted from 30 to 35 plus shipping for them. He said they will not know what the shipping will be until they mail it.
Not Bad half the price of anyone on ebay, he said they ship via USPs
Here is the number 800 321 3494 if anyone is thinking about replacing springs

Replaced my front springs. Have also ordered a CB and some harnesses from them. All reasonable prices.

How much of a difference did it make in the retraction times? How old were the springs replaced?

I would also like to know how it worked out. We have one that is painfully slow. I usually crawl under and help it out by giving it a shove.

Changed the springs yesterday, it was a dirty job. but the levelers all work as new now, it takes twice as long to retract as it does to extend.
We used a dozen or so shims per spring to get the old ones out and the new ones in, we used just enough shims to make the springs exactly as long as needed to hook em up with little or no effort, then when extended the shims fell out, to get the old ones off it was the same in reverse we put the shims in when the jack was extended and then we had to finish retracting them by hand until the springs were loose enough to simply remove them. From what I hear, all springs lose their spring as they get older, just like us.

For future reference

I'm not sure if HWH still sells springs directly to the public. I was never able to get a call back from them.

I did find the spring kit R1171 from hannarv.com for $28.99 shipped. I've ordered 4 kits because I've broken two sets this year and lost one of the dog bone connecting rods, so I'll replace all of them while I'm doing it.

bucky, hwh does sell to the public. they are less than dealers, because of the way dealers mark up on the part. consider that the price qouted from the dealer often includes shipping.
the problem is waiting for the call. stuarts in elkhart sells for about the same price, and isnt so busy.
so, if all you need is a part, stuarts is the way to go.

I bought a pair of R91642 springs a couple of years ago direct from HWH for $34 and $15 shipping. HWH sent them to the CG we were headed to next.

I don't know if that was a good price or not but one of our springs broke so it was worth getting them delivered there fast.

HWH Parts

I have purchased a number of different parts for my leveling system from HWH. A hydraulic pump and motor, fuse panel, retracting rollers, bump stops, and amplifier board. Prices are reasonable and service is very good. My only complaint with HWH is that their phone response is very poor.
