I found the cutest snake in my bedroom doorway last night!!
He has the same markings as my boa constrictor but is black and grey and no bigger around than my pinkie but as long as my forearm.
I thought it was my heater cord until it started wriggling.

Sometimes a little hard to tell just by the color. Some snakes will be lighter or darker, depending on age, temperature, and... You probably know all of this, since you have a boa.
I live about 30 miles east of where you are... out in the sticks.
Lots of copperheads around here. Easiest way to determine if it is a copperhead, is by the shape of the head. Copperheads are pit vipers.

I'm down in a real "sticks" area that's for sure!
He slithered around the corner and I was telling my cat sitting there NO! DON'T! so I could get to him and once I had the bathroom light on and went to somewhat nervously reach for it, he made a kind of clicking noise but of course not the rattler kind.
My son is putting him back outside as I type this, LOL

Nice to hear you put him outside. Given your area and his size he was most likely a harmless corn or young rat snake.
Both are very beneficial to ecosystems.
I keep/rescue snakes. Currently caring for 10 various sized on non venomous snakes in my house.

Not often is the word cute used in the same sentence as snake unless the snake was chasing a cute puppy

Found a shed snake skin on the roof of my RV a few months ago as I was cleaning it.
Yep, on the roof. Florida, gotta love the wild life. Most of it wants to kill me.
