Idea for Vintage RVs and Antique tags

Virginia has antique tags available for vehicles 25 years or older. But there are use restrictions. You can drive for pleasure no further tha 250 miles from home. But you can drive whereever you want on the way to a show.

I don't know what other states might have for tags and restrictions on them, but it seems like it could be useful to create a "show" and take your vintage RV to it each time you are going out to camp. Say you are goin to go somewhere, you post it and have a signup for other Vintage RVs to meet there - and print up a flyer for it to take it with you.

What do you think?

Is the money you think you'll save on the tags worth the fine you'll get when you get busted?

Personally, I don't think an LEO will buy your workaround, although a judge might. One time, anyway

It's not the $50 bucks or so for tags every couple of years, its the inspection requirement that's a bigger deal. As most motorhomes do a lot of sitting, the more ageable vehicles are going to be more likely to develop issues I would think.
