Just got me a 1973 Winni Bego Bravo 21 foot 318 engine. I traded autobody work for it and I cant wait to get started on it so much work to do I think I will start with the septic tank I noticed it has already been repaired with fiber glass and cracked several times since. I live in southern utah about 168 miles from las vegas and was wondering if anyone can help me with a good and hopefull near by place I can find a new or even used septic tank that will fit my 73 Brave

I repaired both the fresh and black tanks on a 1982 Minne Winne. For the fresh I used two part epoxy, for the black tank I used a soldering iron and plastic strips from a 5 gallon bucket to plastic weld it. Both tanks never leaked again.
The old tanks are much thicker then todays tanks and can be plastic welded easily.
If it were me I would try a free repair before downgrading to a flimsy tank of today. Hope this helps.

Charlie has the best idea so far, but if the damage is too much, just google holding tanks and you'll find several places that sell them. You'll need to know what size and/or how much room you got to play with if you're thinking about increasing the size of the tanks. I know for a fact that there is a place in Indiana that will have a tank ot two to help you out. RV Salvage in Elkhart, Ind. Nice folks to deal with.

TankDepot.com. They have many different size tanks, some specifically designed as RV holdings, as well as generic sealed tanks. They will put fittings any where you want in the generic tanks. I bought a tank to replace my grey water tank. As it turned out, I was able to increase the tanks size from 27 gallons to 40, so I was happy.

I think I will take Charlie's advice and pull the tank and see if I can repair it I don't want a thin walled tank if I can help it. Thank you all for your kindness, help and advice and keep on RV ing I will report my progress as for now its slow with all the cold and snow out there. Thanks

If the tank is black plastic, check out a product called Plasti-mend. it works on ABS plastic. i have used it and think it is great. HarveyP

Looking at the plasti-mend myself. If you do go that route let us know how it works out. Or any repair route for that matter.

Fiberglass will not stick to ABS but it can be repaired. I melted some ABS into the crack and while soft put on fiberglass cloth. I did this a few times then used fiberglass resin to mix with the cloth. It made a strong bond.
