Info on '93 Vintage Winnabago 22' Warrior

I am trying to find an air "whistle" or leak on the front passagener side of this unit. I have resealed the windshield.

What I need to know is this. On the outside where the passenger door if there were one would be there is a pop riveted cover with a single slit in it. To avoid having to take it off can anyone tell me what it is there for? The slit would tell me that air is somehow connected to its purpose.

Also if anybody has any ideas about my problem with the wind noise I would appreciate it. I have also sealed the clearance lights. I am wondering about a Vac. operated door on the heater/AC box not sealing all the way. Thanks in advance.
