That instrument cluster was used for several models. I've seen the center with both a tachometer and air pressure guages. Is that about a 1984?

That's the same gauge panel I have in my 88 Bounder, I imagine it's common to Chevy P-30 chassis-based coaches from the mid-late 80's.

I think that center dial is the "warning light" area. It lights up when you first start the engine, and then if you lose oil pressure, overheat, or otherwise cause a problem, that oblong center dial lights up.

As long as it stays dark, you're cool.

As long as you make sure it works, unlike the one in my Toyota p/u I used to own. Overheated and had some issues and never lit up.

It is a standard Chevy cluster; we had the same in our '83 Winnie and now in our '89 Southwind.

On the Southwind, the center rectangle is a red BRAKE light; can't remember what it was on the Winnie, but likely the same.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I've had to remove the complete dash assy to replace the wood on the sides. I'm repairing a nest of cut and taped wires. I've had no luck in getting a wiring diagram from either GM or Winnebago that shows the wiring schematics I need so I'm having to improvise. I'm also trying to color code each system as well as make it neater and have nothing hanging down.

You might have better luck searching for P-30 schematics in the Fisher Body manual.

Wiring Diagrams for the P30 chassis are in the Chevrolet Light Truck Service Manual set. GM produced a different manual set for each year. Because it is not uncommon for a RV Mfg to build the current year (i.e 84) on the previous year chassis (ie. 83) you need to determine what year your chassis is from the chassis VIN number. Once you know the year you can go to ebay or someplace like Bishko to procure the manuals. It is a 2 or 3 volumn manual set (depends on year) so the best deal is the Bishko CD-ROM that includes everything for the given year. The P30 chassis wiring diagrams are at the very end of the pdf file denoted as a P-32 chassis.
You do NOT want the "S" series manual. Just the base Light Truck manual that covers C10-30, K10-30, P-30.
GM provided coverage for the P30 chassis in the Light Truck manual up through about 88/89. They then broke the P30 (actually P32) out into a seperate manual set.

Its pretty apparent from looking at the wiring on the coach to see what Winnebago installed themselves. Wiring for the chassis is pretty much a no problem. Its just that it would be nice if Winnebago had a decent copy of the wiring for the entire coach. Wire colors to both front and back clearance lights for example are 4 different colors and I seriously doubt that they have been changed since I have literally gutted the interior of the coach.

Its the dash wiring that is the problem I'm dealing with at this time. With all the accessories like generator, batt and other switches that have been removed and taped together its just taking more time then I had wanted so I can start putting things back together.
