I'm watching it but I'm still not quite ready to pull the trigger.

Two more trips in the current Dolphin and then she goes to her new owners. Easter weekend with the family and then MotoGP races in Austin where we'll be dry camping TRACKSIDE!

Then I can get her delivered and have the money in the back to find the right coach at the right price. I've only been looking for TWO YEARS...

I looked for over 10 years...just kicking tires and wondering and window shopping...I got a good handle on what I wanted and the various manufacturers that created them...one day I was looking over eBay and came across a 92 Beaver and called the seller..it was a bit of a problem child with a bad vibration in the back axle that had resulted in several buyers coming back but it sounded very similar to something I had experienced before with a wheel put on wrong...I rolled the dice and got the thing in the end for $9200...got down there and sure enough a Bud wheel with a stripped inner lug...cut it off...4 new sneakers and as smooth as silk all the way home without a hiccup...even found all the receipts and documents stashed in the front cowl section and determined the engine was replaced by CAT on a misdiagnosed lack of power and smoking condition for a mere $17K...I have a few things to do here and there but it's the bones that make all the difference...
I found another 1992 Country Coach for a friend and while it was a bit more money it had 64,000 miles and so help me you could eat off the bottom of it...never seen anything like it for that age and the paint looks factory fresh too...they are out there...patience pays off...

6CT Cummins and $25k? I'm clearly not shopping at a high enough price point. I thought coaches like that were in the $50k used range.

In 10 years, I'm going to be doing some serious shopping!

Here we go!!

1997 Vogue with a Cat 3406E
1997 has to be one of final Mitchell Vogues and has to be the only coach I have ever seen with a 3406E which again really makes a statement about how unique and revolutionary they were..I WANT this one...

Yeah, I showed the wife that Beaver in Las Vegas. If we were ready, we'd be flying out to try and negotiate that one today. HAHA.

The only thing holding me up (besides the cash) is that 3208...

I have had a pretty fair history with 3208's from marine to a forklift and while not the best motor CAT ever made it is a pretty damn reliable runner and simple as they come...sort of a 307 Chevy compared to a 350 LT1 I guess...they put them in everything you can think of from excavators to cranes and lobster boats...with unlimited cooling they make a 475HP marine version but the really tried and true marine is less than 375HP for longevity...simple general rules are quart of oil every 700-800 miles and regular oil changes...no fancy synthetics just good ol' Rotella oil 15/40 and you are always warm then 40W is fine...it's cheap so keep it fresh...change the antifreeze out and with that MT647 Allie you do pretty much the same thing as the motor...change the oil and filters and keep it fresh and again no need for transynd...just a fresh supply of Dex III...I hear talk about 3-4 times the life with transynd making it cheaper and all but I just don't buy into it...torque converter remains filled and 2-3 changes to get all cleared out and such...keep it simple...keep it clean...
All that being said I have no issues whatsoever with a 3208TA in any vehicle under 40K lbs...plus I get 9 MPG

I follow a few interesting channels on Youtube as I am sure many of you do as well and came across "Rufus and Dufus"... who is very entertaining and a good solid genuine soul...anyway he was helping a friend repair a 1991 Beaver and the asking price is $8K...Here is the video;
