Is it possible that my 1981 Winnebago Warrior was built without a invertor?????.Can't find a switch anywhere. There is a breaker box,A/C that works off 120 with a heating element and a switch on the three way frig. There by the kitchen sink is a box for the water level, propane, warning for the frig, clock, pump for water.Above the driver's seat is a switch for both batteries, single battery, clock, and a spring switch for starting with all batteries.Haven't seen a invertor yet.Huh????.

Ok-found under the sink 8 glass fuses(two missing) next to the breaker box.In the next cabinet opening is a medal vented box which I got to assume is the invertor. So does it operate without a switch???.Should I never run engine while I have it hooked up to land line power?.

First Unplug from 110 volt! Second get a battery voltage reading for your bank, should be around 11.5 to 12.0 volts. Once you have that, Plug in to 110 and see if your reading goes up to say 13.5 volts or even 14.2 volts. If it does, you do have one but if not don't give up hope. Where your electric panel is look for a box say about 6" high and about8" wide and about a foot long. Find out what breaker it is plugged into and see if you have a bad breaker, If not start looking for the fuse box for 12 volt. It should be in the box on its end. You should have a single screw or a tab to turn, and you can see the fuses. Check them all and make sure you have voltage there and if you find a bad fuse, replace them. Another thing is that you should be able to see the lights get brighter when you plug in and also there might be a momentary 12 volt loss until the relay in that box kicks in 12 volt is on by way of the inverter from the batterys!

My hunch is that what you're referring to is a converter as opposed to an inverter.
A converter operates without having to be switched on or off and changes the shore power to 12 volts DC and also charges the coaches batteries.
An inverter works the other way changing 12 volts DC to 120 volts AC and it's not likely you have one on an '81 model coach. The technology is newer than the coach.

Sorry buddy we posted right next to each other.
Just find out the voltages and replace the bad fuses. Also, I don't know if it can hurt the unit if you are running the engine. I don't think it wouldn't hurt it but I can't really answer that one.
