IRV2 Vintage Rally
We just returned from the IRV2 International Rally in Nashville, TN. I was hoping to see more vintage coaches there. My 1985 Pace Arrow really stood out as the oldest RV in the park. I was wondering if there has ever been a rally for the vintage RV's. Is there any interest in having one?

Dave,
1985 isn't old....
Go to a Tin Can Tourist rally, you will the youngun.
I am a member of a type specific group and our newest are 1978. We do have a few original owners.

I have an '88 Honey, and I'm always the oldest when my gang gets together... but there is a group in Kansas that gets together once a year to camp with their vintage RV's, Not an IRV2 event though, and I've yet to make one of those... I'd love to see more oldies but goodies.

Dave, our RV was the oldest at the Nashville Rally. We have you beat by 2 years. 1983 Avion 34V. Great RV and gathers many a favorable comment wherever we go.

Speaking of the Tin Can Tourists . Here's a thread I did on them in 2013 when they were displaying at the Tampa Super Show.
Thought you guys might like to see it.

MartySQ, do you have any information on the vintage club from Kansas? I am from Missouri and I would like to link up with them.

I love old motorhomes and Campers. I'd be up for a vintage rally! Although, I must admit... as a 1977 model I really don't think of it as that old.

Here is part of my point, one of the conversations at our end of the camp ground was all about reprogramming the chip in the Ford V10. While an interesting discussion I could not relate because I have no computer to reprogram.
I would like to learn from others with motor homes closer to the age of mine what upgrades they do and what preventive maintenance they do to prepare for a long trip.

I live in the Denver metro area and am always looking for any vintage RV shows or rally's but have never found one. I have a '74 Ford pickup that I enter into occasional car shows and I have put the '79 Mitchell slide in on occasion. It's always a big hit as folks love looking at the 70's interior colors and it sparks a lot of stories of how grandpa, uncle, or somebody had one of these rigs. It's a lot of fun. I might take my '79 Mitchell class c to a show at some point for fun. It would be nice if there was a show that included vintage RV's.
