Joining the Vintage Group

I guess we can become members now. We have put down a deposit on a 1983 Avion 34V trailer. Overall in great condition, just needs some cleaning and new tires. We will be updating as we figure out what we want to change. Get to pick toward the end of August. Could have gotten it eariler, but we are leaving tomorrow for Florida for a couple of weeks. Now, just need to sell current trailer.

1983 Avion Pictures

Here are pictures of the trailer taken that were sent to me prior to my trip to inspect. Get to pick it up in a couple of weeks when we get back from Florida.

Looks like you have a jewel there Ron and Ellen. Problem is it needs to be hooked up to your truck...not just setting there.

I am looking forward to meeting the "NEW" trailer. Do you have a name for it yet.?

We have put in a vinyl bathroom floor and getting new carpet through the rest of the Twinkie.

Ken

Got It

We went and picked it up on Saturday. Only negative is that it has been smoked in. We are looking for a way to get rid of the smoke smell.

One thing that will help pull the smoke is to set out several shallow pans/bowls of plain cleaning ammonia for several days ...no A/C. The other issue will be the A/C coated with the smoke film. You will probably need to take the air side apart and clean it to get the smell out. There are several industrial strength deodorizers that can be sprayed inside the unit. I believe I still have some at home and you are welcome to try it. I'll see if I still have it.

The carpet will also be saturated with the smell as well as curtains. Sometimes cleaning the carpet will work. The curtains may be able to be washed.

As for cleaning the inside (woodwork and paneling) try Murphy's Oil Soap. You will be surprised at the amount of residue coating the interior.

Looks like you have a major cleaning project ahead of you, but it will be well worth it.

No carpet, so that is a plus.
Curtains are coming down today to be washed.
Murphy's oil soap is on the agenda.
Will try the ammonia.
Would love to see the product you have.
Thanks
