Just bought my first camper

Hello I'm 21 and I just bought my first camper... I ran the old licence plate and all I could find was 1972 star...if anyone could help find out more on it it would be really appreciated

Colt,

That baby is a beauty! There is a guy on here named Bap who can probably help you. He and his wife redo old TT's and MH's. I am pretty sure he can tell you what it is.

He just had surgery so give him a few days. He will catch up to you. These older rigs were made so well that they tend to be in good condition still. If the previous owner (PO) took good care of it all the better.

Best of luck and please post any changes you make because we love to see what you do.
Lynne

Doesn't it say what it is on the pink slip? Congratulations, by the way!

I did not get a title with it....my co worker had it in his yard it was his father in laws who passed away and it had no documentation with it...I have always easily fallen in love with vintage campers and for 200 bucks I couldn't pass it up I'm excited to start on it

With no title I would go to the local DMV and see what you have to do to be able to register and be the legal owner before you put much if any money into it.

Trust but verify even with friends... you don't want to put a bunch of time and money into it if it turns out you can't use it. Just one persons opinion....

My only issue is I have no idea where the vin number is that is why I'm trying to figure out more details on it so I can search for the vin.. it's nowhere on the tounge..I could use the license plate but who knows if that is the original plate for it? ....it has sat for 22 years. I can't be the only one to swap plates on trailers

First and foremost get the tittle worked out in your state. I have been down that road and it can be a long and expensive one. In my case it involved a lawyer.

Great project, post your progress.

Look for some numbers stamped into the tonuge, the VIN may be there.

Also look in every cabinet for a sticker. You may find a VIN.

As far a a title, back in 72, it may not even have had one.
