Kwikee Part Kit needed

I am looking for Kwikee Steps part Kit #909525, it a set of gears and some other small parts

I am about 99% sure the big plastic worm gear is stippied or worn down after 20 years. I found documents where they changed the step motor in 1999, my RV is a 91 and had not been used for the last 5 or 6 years until I got it

I cannot find that kit anywhere or how much it is worth, any one have any ideas. I have the Kwikee Series 27 steps, two steps 24 1/2 inch wide

kwikee step parts | eBay

The above link may have what you need. I'm needing my third controller in 6 years. Sounds like you did pretty well. I bet with the age of your steps they were not made in China.

kwikee step motor

I have a 1998 fleetwood bounder and was hating the thought of spending a ton of money to replace my step motor and paying for the upgrade kit and all. I don't remember if mine was the same #, but the motor looks the same. I was able to replace it with a 1987 ford taurus driver side power window motor for about $30.00. It was exactly the same motor with the nylon gears and all. Replaced it with the same 3 screws no problem. It may be worth a try!

Good Luck!

I came across a link to a guy on the rx4rv site that showed with pictures how to fix a Step motor by replacing the three gear plugs that are under the big plastic gear on the motor. I went to my local auto parts store and got the Dorman "Help" kit #74410 (Window Regulator Gear Plugs) for 7.99 and when I took the motor apart I found my three plastic plugs were smashed to bits, I installed the new ones and my steps are working perfect, just like brand new, quiet, and smooth. I was just about to spring for a new replacement motor kit., took me about an hour and a half to do the whole job. I had no clue those plugs were even there, I thought the worm gear assembly was shot, the motor works perfect. Those plugs work like a shock absorber when the steps hit their limit in either direction

Thanks I'm heading to autozone next time I'm in town.
