Seriously, it’s a special place to be riding down the road and everything working like it’s supposed to do.

We had a great last day on the road, weather stayed clear for the most part and the wind stayed down most of the time. Thereabouts is green and getting greener by the minute. The flat bed trailer I need to go get the tractor home was in a place that is very stucky when wet. I backed Lucille up to it and pulled it out without spending a wheel. If the rain comes in tomorrow they are predicting that would not have been possible later.

Plans are coming together.

I’m going to try and upload a picture of our RV park last night. Keep your fingers crossed, two bars AT&T.
Nice Pull Thru site.
Glad you made it home safely.

Wow, you had the entire place to yourselves!!!! Get your point, wet grass would be very intreresting when trying to move the coach. At home we would be there till summer. (red clay, add water, very slick!)

Harvey! I hope you got Glenda's permission before announcing her age. Some ladies are sensitive about such things. I have a hard time believing it. She certainly doesn’t act her age.

Glad you made it back to your summer home. We should be coming your way around May 1st.

Barb, Glenda is fine with people knowing she’s 75. I hope when I am 75 I have the zest for life that she has. We look forward to seeing you first of May.

We just had a typical spring storm roll through, a lot louder than wetter. Now the temp is dropping like a rock after a high of 80.

Glenda has got two of her flower beds cleaned out and ready. We’ve got the coach and the Tracker pretty well emptied of stuff and the stuff put away. I still have a bunch of hand tools to put back into their boxes in the shop but that’s about it.

Tomorrow will be about picking up the skid steer, buying some steel for a tractor project, and maybe getting some Lady Banks Roses for the front of the property. Tuesday will be about picking up forming lumber and a unit of #4 rebar, want to get this show on the road.

It’s good to be home.

Good to hear y'all made it home safely Harvey. Don't wear yourself out with too many projects at one time. Smell some of those roses you are buying.

Wonderful morning here in Thereabouts. Temps are going to be in the sixties with light winds, gotta love that.

Yesterday we went to local nursery and found prices half of that of the box stores and chains. So instead of five Lady Banks roses for the front screen barrier we got 11. We also got 11 shrubs that grow very fast, very thick, and are evergreen for the east side.

Yesterday I picked up the tractor and attachments. I also grabbed the steel for the concrete bucket I make for contractors and now for myself. My bud who does the hot rodding of the diesel pickups gave me some parts for replacing Jane’s muffler.

Last night I used the hand post hole diggers for the Lady Banks. Today Miss Glenda has those to plant, 17 perennials in one of her beds, and setting up the area for the east side barrier plants.

Today I get to pickup some welding rods half price in Durant and find out about storm shelters. The Choctaw Nation has a program to help members with that cost.

So Glenda has dirt work to do, she lives to play in the sandy loam here, happy camper defined.

As most of you know when you’re loading a skid loader onto a deckover trailer you back up because they have a tendency to wheelie when going up a grade without a load in the bucket. Yesterday when I picked up the tractor the mechanic’s eyes went wide open when I headed up the ramps and she wheelied up. We rode it out and brought her down on the deck like a boss. 70 is only a number.

Yesterday was a great day. While we were in Yuma all of the tags expired on the vehicles. I got the two SUV’s, Lucille, Jane, and the equipment trailer all inspected and then new tags. There is a thing between men of a certain age and appearance that passes all understanding. Good old boy networking allowed me to bring in information on all of the vehicles and they got inspected magically without having to appear at the inspection station.

The great thing is the good old boy network works hand in hand with the state annual registration get mechanism. By the time I got to the county tax office for the registration the inspection okay was there. That allowed me to pay for all the fees even though I didn’t have the renewal notices with me and I got the new tags.

I qualify for a no cost to us concrete storm shelter because I’m part Choctaw. The nation will give me a voucher that covers the cost of the shelter and its installation. We should have our very own fraiddy cat room within a couple of weeks. That’s a good thing to have here in tornado alley.

So now that the coach has passed inspection I don’t have to take her into town. That means today I get to install the window shades and put her to bed until November when we head to Yuma.

I was within a couple of miles of Thereabouts when Miss Glenda called to inform me that she had the mower stuck. I had to use the snatchem strap to pull the mower off the culvert out front. I hope the mower survives the learning curve.

Attached is a photo of the model storm shelter at the factory in Durant OK. And of course the photo of the zero turn on the culvert.

Who put that culvert there? I like your idea of the safe room for when storms come near. If I ever built a house it would have a walk-in closed made with reinforced concrete and a steel door. Safe room for storms and maybe even intruders.

Harvey, when I was out on the farm, we had a Woods ZTR, and I got it stuck a few times, it had the knobby style tires, and when muddy, they filled up, and became slicks! So I found a tire store that had tractor [emoji609] style tread tires that would fit, and man did that make a difference! Check them out! Rail! [emoji266]

The way Glenda got mower stuck. Would not make much difference in what tires were on it.
My lawn mower has not been stuck yet this year. Cutting season will not start for over a month.
My tractor and mower have high grip turf tires.

Well HECK! If you're going to do something, DO IT RIGHT! For me, the mowing season is not complete without being pulled out of the pond (well, actually pulled back up the SLOPE to the pond at least every three mowings or so. Grass over clay is a hard combination to beat when it comes to slickness . . .
