Barb,

We have a class A and found out where the city water line comes in, the electrical supply line, and the sewer hose is often where the mice come in. Little critters don't like steel wool much so stuff it around all those hoses and see if that is the problem.

If you can find copper steel wool, it won't rust in these areas. It has resolved our problem with mice.

Barb I'm the last person to ask for advice on mice. They've whupped me every time. There is a product called One Bite that you can buy at farm stores. It works but you have to make sure there isn't any source of water available for them so that they go elsewhere to die. And that's very hard to do when you have pets.

Gordon, dad's loving the remodeling of the trailer. We're not modifying it for resale, he paid for it so we're modifying it for him. But the fun can be trying to figure out how to modify with what we have at hand or readily available. He's loving it. When we got here we were in this might be his last hurrah state of mind, now we're looking at this being one of many. 91 and still living the dream, can't get better than that.

The bedroom is basically done except for the panel closing off the front. Dad now has 115 volt plug underneath the head of the bed. We have a shelf we are going to install so that he can plug in his Nook and breathing treatment pump without getting up. Today Glenda is going to stain the wood so that it will look better.

My chore is the shower modification today. We're wanting to make him a small step stool so he can wash his feet when in the shower. My big challenge is making it water proof.

Harvey, I use a folding plastic step stool in the shower for shaving my legs. It might work better than a built in. They come in other sizes also -- up to 16" tall.

https://www.amazon.com/Folding-Step-...ing+step+stool

I also added one of these for safety, but mine is on ceramic tile. It might not work on the shower panels.

Best thing about me is convinced the shower needs to be the Swiss Army Knife of showers and I'm happy with it being a shower that doesn't leak. Yesterday was about getting the bedroom finished out and adding framing for the shower including extending the faucet plumbing up to shower height from tub height. Thank God for Pex.

I haven't got the bench thing figured out totally yet. But late yesterday after moving over to more pleasureable projects most of the day I hit upon what I think will work. So if you took a picture today you would think you took it yesterday. The difference is the plumbing in the wall is done, additional framing in between walls is done, we now have a plan.

Barb, we've got a grab handle for inside the shower. That was one of the reasons for the reinforcement framing inside the wall in between the bedroom and shower. We now have a solid base for the handle to be attached to. Installation of the two by four for the shower grab bar was fun. I had to enlarge the hole for the faucet work enough to force a 2 foot 2 X 4 in between the walls. Hold it in place with one hand and then screw in a holding screw with the other. It was kind like what I imagine scratching that itch in the middle of the back of big bear giving you a not-hungry-yet hug.

I pulled the radiator cap and had it tested, new one last year but it was bad, got a new one. I'm not sure if the radiator cap was the reason we were having with the overflow not returning to the radiator or not. So I changed out the complete overflow kit. Instructions mentioned that the reservoir needs to be as high as possible. Mine is low so I have to relocate the reservoir. Life in the city so close to the country.

Last night I was having issues with how to finish out the shower. Got up this morning and it was 1-2-3 and everything worked out good. Then I started trying to get the FRP panel installation straight in my head. It wasn't until late in the afternoon before I got one panel in. It's just one of those things where I have to get it straight in my head before I am comfortable with doing something.

Dad is getting a little antsy, so is Glenda. I'm okay with the pace.

Harvey,
Looks like you are coming along nicely, although maybe not as fast as you would like.

We've got about ten more tiles to cut in and then install the toilet. Then it's load him up and we're off to the mountains. There unless things have changed since a year ago we will be off grid totally except for a burner phone. Our AT&T service is dead along the Rim.

The plumbing all tested out leak free. And the little stuff that was abused and or broken has been repaired or replaced. Dad is excited, us too.

So glad you finally made it! Will you go straight to Yuma from there or back to Texas first?

We're leaving Seattle in 4 weeks to do a slow roll to Quartzsite with a stop in Little Rock, AR. We have dear friends there who can no longer travel. We want to share hugs with them and plan to be in Q by mid November. This summer has flown!
