The fat is for balance. Keeps you from falling backwards off roof. [emoji57]

Rail's right, only a 4-12 pitch, too steep to kneel on without slipping badly but just fine for walking on. The metal is very slick and tonight it is a two Tylenol night.
We're water tight so if we do get the rain forecasted we'll be fine.

Wow, Harvey! Looks great for sure! That shed will be there for a very long time!
How are you going to insulate it so everything you put inside it wont get baked in the summer time?
I do know how hot it gets there in the summertime, having lived in Algodones for four years! Have seen 127* before, in the shade temp!
That metal will get very hot, for sure! Why everything is built out of brick/block me thinks! Rail!

Instead of insulating, it's a storage unit, we've invested in ventilation. One of the reasons we're spending the money for vented soffit is it circulates the air through the vents in the roof. Hopefully we'll have the vents big bug proof. They're screened.
I've been in some of the metal working shops in the area and the only parts insulated are the offices. Anything that might deteriorate in the heat will be tucked away in the casita.
This morning we will be building the shelving. The bad thing about that is all of the stuff we've built the building for will fit on one shelf. That means we will need more stuff!!!

What about using Reflectix installed about an inch or so underneath the roof metal? I've played around with it a bit on my metal building and it does reflect a lot heat installed this way. It might keep the building from getting excessive heat from the sun. The R-value is very low (about R-1), but it keeps radiant heat to a minimum. Testing with an infrared thermometer, when our Florida sun was bright, yielded temperature differences of 20F and more.

Harvey, in my experience,,,,,, your stuff expands to the square footage of your space,,,,, and then a little beyond. Therefore creating the need for moore space.

Looks good Harv. Never have enough tools. Need at least 2 of everything in case you can't find the one you like best, you always have the one that's almost as good. Keep up the good work.

It went by way over my head, suspect it’s the nose to the grindstone phenomenon.
