Ron, too much of a good thing isn’t always a good thing.
Yesterday was a pretty huge day for Casa de Lacey. One of my old friend’s wife is one of those people that can walk into a place and not only see the potential, but explain it so that everyone understands it. We now have a plan for the little house. It will be approximately 1000 sf with one bedroom and 1 1/2 baths.
I hadn’t went into the attic, plate is full enough already without going up there. What we found was amazing. Rafters are 2 X 6’s, joists are 2 X 10’s, and there was no insulation. Little house has good bones.
Today I have to make up some metal shelve braces for the container and install some shelves. The trailer is supposed to take flight Tuesday. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

Coming together Harvey! No insulation is a bad thing,,,,,,, unless you are renovating and remodeling. Very nice to not have to mess with that stuff.
Fingers crossed that the trailer heads down the road.

We’re going to have closed cell insulation shot on everything, roof, walls, etc. it’s costly but the difference in livability is huge.
This afternoon I laid down two coats of white elastmeric white paint on the roof of the container. Might have been my imagination but I swear I could tell a difference inside the container.

Harvey have you considered putting an exhaust fan on the container? If you have an RV salvage yard nearby you could probably pick one up cheap. Or solar powered would be another option.

After living in a 25’ motorhome I think it would be fun to convert a shipping container into a home. It certainly would have more room.

But we have stones that no other state has.
Petoskey Stone. We always had one in our motorhome.
Looks like projects are coming along good.

Neighbor to our east recommends a guy from Wylie who did his barndominium. And a good friend who has ten rent houses in the Denison area has a local guy who had done work for him that he thinks hung the moon. I’ll get some names this week.
I know the difference is huge when it comes to heating cooling costs.

I have some plans for ventilating the container. Today I will be installing 48’ of shelving so we can be more efficient with the storage. I’ll be using self tapping screws because we own the container and don’t plan on selling it. I made the brackets yesterday, kind of fun, welding again.

Rock is spectacular. We’ll have to make a point of getting one or three, probably four.
