I have the Makita premuim set, forget what it is called? XLT or something. Amazing how many screws it will put in on a battery charge. However is was not cheap.

Quality is never cheap right?[emoji2]When I need a power tool that is to be used a LOT with premium power etc etc....and I can't break it......it's Milwaukee for me. I have had a Makita circular saw for 20 years that's been fantastic though.....I'd give it 5 stars too.
As of late, I've been putting Bauer battery power tools to the test... (Harbor Freight)....so far I am quite pleased, pretty darn well built stuff for the cost.

Most of the small power tools today are like the cars and trucks built today. They’re all good, just a little personal preference.
The only Makita tools I have anymore are some sanders and a beam saw. Look up that one, 16” circular saw, make a man out of you or make you want to find one.
I have Miller and Lincoln welders. I also have a Panasonic MIG. Don’t laugh, the Panasonic is an absolute horse and I’ve had Miller and Hobart MIGS, even a Lincoln, and I still prefer the Panasonic. Again, personal preferences abound.
The other day I sorted tower components because of the rain. Yesterday I started assembly of tower sections. Directions said to figure five man hours to assemble one tower’s components. I figured I would beat that easy. Man was I wrong. I’m not sure what’s going on but it isn’t going together like a plan, it’s a mess.
So today I abandoned that chore and concentrated on installing a couple of hundred screws missing in the building framework. Everything goes right tomorrow I’m going to try to hang the north side rafters. Rain is forecast middle of the week and I’ll try to get back to tower construction one oh doggone darn bad word party time.

You read directions? I think I may see the problem here.

Okay guys, this isn’t funny. One of the reasons I made the purchase was there was a manila envelope with three books in it, plus an invoice for $6,500.00. One book was specifications and instructions for concrete pad. Another was for installing the wind generator and erecting the tower. Then there was the thick one, the one with very detailed instructions for assembling the tower sections.
The tower consists of four sections, #4 is the base or bottom section. Then #3, #2, and #1. I assembled the #3 tower sections, they were a bugger bear for fit and I wasn’t happy with the final product. But all of the problems were the same so I figured that’s just the way it is.
Then I laid out a #2 and it went together like easy sneazy anyone can do this. I laid out the next #2 and nothing fit like it was supposed to do. I’m going to have some friends come by and help me with the head scratching on this one. So rather than wallowing in frustration I’m going to change course and do something difficult.
22 years ago this week we were out in Camp Verde AZ helping dad with some projects when I noticed a hot air balloon chase truck on the side of the road. I pulled over and asked some questions, they gave me a small tri-fold brochure about their services. Long story short, we got a marriage license, bought a ring at a pawn shop, and we married in a hot air balloon. For over ten years I had mentioned marriage and she wasn’t interested. The hot air balloon ride was the game changer.
It still makes me smile and count my blessings. My talent is good luck.

Hmmm, I’m trying to decide just what a hot air balloon ride could interest me in doing. Glenda held out for a good ride, that's for sure.

Internet has been down, day three today.
31 degrees this morning with windchills in the low twenties. Inside work for sure today.
Second storm gave us almost another 1 1/2” rain. The other morning in the drizzle I put up a temporary garage for the man lift. I tired of wrapping it up and being soaked when I unwrapped it. Now I can pull a couple of bungee cords to back it out or in as needed.
I hate posting from the phone
