Looking for Completely Subjective Opinions

Two MHs. All else being equal (assume both are in good shape, same price of $6,500 and you like the layout of both), which would you choose and why?

1990 24' Mallard Sprinter Class A, Ford 460 Engine, 120,000 miles, NADA value about $8,550 to $10,300.

1993 24' Minnie Winnie Class C, Ford 460 Engine, 75,000 miles, NADA value of about $3,300 to $4,000.

The NADA values blow me away. I had assumed a Minnie Winnie would keep its value longer and it's a newer unit.

Condition means a lot with these units. I would tend to go with the newer unit with lower miles if all else is equal.
The C will have less weight and less storage.

Book values are BS, especially on anything that old. Buy the one that has the floorplan you like better.

I wouldn't factor in the NADA value in your decision. It's similar to vintage classic vehicles...price is all over the board. In my opinion, the NADA value for the Mallard is way off. Buy the one that you like.

The C will use less costly drive train and suspension parts, ride a bit smoother and possably be a safer vehicle to operate. ( Air bags in that year ? )

The A will tow and carry more and because it is a heavier truck chassis, possibly have longer lasting chassis parts. But it does have 45,000 more miles, already on them.

A long road test will help in making a decision.

Miniwinnie class C ,lower miles and two entrance doors in cab, very good. Most class As only one door. I've had both.

A lot of good information from previous posts here. Now I'm going to give you my opinion. As others have said, THROW OUT NADA, it's just a guide, condition is like location on real estate, it's what counts. As for mileage, the majority has been rolled back, even the digital ones.
For your comparisons, I would choose the CLASS C over the CLASS A because cost of maintenance, maneuverability, accessibility to the cab and driver comfort. These are just my opinions, not meant to sway you either way. The most important thing to me about condition, is WATER DAMAGE. Good luck to you and don't get hung up on the first one you see, there's plenty out there, just be patient.

Go with the C if they are in fact the same condition. Price and mileage would be the deciding factors for me.

Class a to class c is Apples to Carrots comparrison.

Many structural differences in both the box and chassis.

Spend a day in each to make a dry test run.

Climb into the bed and toss and turn a bit to see if you fit.

Check storage.

Drive both and do most things like filling and draining tanks and simply entry and exit.

Some prefer a and some prefer c but what you prefer is what matters.

What do you need and what can you have?

Pretty sure you can still get parts for the Winnie direct from Winnebago. Where can you get parts for the Mallard?

I think you might be happier with the Winnie - assuming only there is no water intrusion.
