Main and Aux fuel tanks

How do the main/aux fuel tanks work. This is on a 1984 Suncrest Class A that is used mainly for Seahawk tailgating.

Does the generator always run off the same tank the engine runs on? Our plan was to use the main tank for the motor and switch to the aux when using the generator. The main reason is our fuel gauge does not work so we want a good way to track our mileage and hours on the generator. Found out yesterday that my switch for the main/aux doesn't work...... Think we fixed that we will see the next time I fill up.

So I guess the main question I have is will the generator run off either the main or the aux tank.

Thanks

Follow the generator fuel line back to the fuel tank(s) and you should be able to determine which tank is used. Generator probably runs off of one tank only.

My gen runs off the main tank which is the larger of the two. You will find that if that tank is less than 1/4 tank the gen may not run.. The is to make sure you are able to drive and get more gas. So even if you are driving on the aux tank the gen will still run on the main tank. Have fun..
