Once I removed the hood/vent the microwave lifted off the back sliders/hooks.
Was NOT a lightweight tho....Also since the exhaust section (side) was way out of alignment we just flipped the exhaust fan to the UP position and with very careful "Centering" drilled a hole in the roof for the exhaust.
Filled the side hole in with 1" styrofoam & sealant and that chrome tape....
All is well.

Jim

Dave, That mounting kit is the key point....Take a very careful measurement at the point with the "Hanging plates" up in the microwave unit.....
Next would be the "Hanging plates" installation screw holes and the top of the new unit where YOU WANT the height to be...I my case it was "Measure 4 times and place it once"
I would also remove and change around the exhaust fan position just for drill since it's only a 2 minute job and you will learn much..
Once I decided the exhaust would NOT exit the stock (side exit) it became a new ball game on the plumbing of the exhaust, Wasn't hard but IF your off by a few inches it can become a PITA...
Wish you the best..

Jim
