My brand spanking new 1977 Sportscoach (Mopar)

Hi everyone! My name is Matt and I am the proud new owner of a brand spanking new, to me that is, 1977 Sportscoach Class A RV powered by a Dodge 440 and 727 transmission. I have been lurking on the board for the past couple of weeks trying to learn as much as can.

All in all she is in decent condition with 55,000 miles on the drivetrain and chassis. She is in need of some upgrading and some basic maintenance. I am still trying to work through all of the systems and was very fortunate to find the original Owners Manual inside a cabinet while cleaning her out.

I traded a project car for her from a gentleman that had no idea what he was doing and had her for a couple of years. I will be fixing a bunch of his "repairs and upgrades" I will try to document some of the more creative ones here.

Since I know from reading how much everyone loves pictures lets start with my day one just got her home photos:

Exterior

Interior

So the plans are to finish cleaning her up, perform a lot of maintenance, update the interior and the exterior and enjoy taking my fiance' and kids camping! Let me know what you all think and I will hopefully be posting lots of updates!

Matt

Sweet looking rig. Can't beat that 440 with the 727, best combo Dodge came out with.

I would not change a thing and pretty much keep it retro except for things that you can't see behind the scenes that need repairs. I'm amazed at how well preserved that thing looks. It's so hard to tell from pictures though but were there other things in there than that hornet's nest? (that would scare the crap out of me the first time I saw it)

Mine had been invaded by barn mice and it looked mostly OK until I got it home and I looked in all of the hidden spaces and found out the true extent of the nasty mess I had to clean up in order to even be able to move in. Yours looks like you could almost just hop right in and go.
