Need help locating temp sensor
I have a 1978 itasca seafarer with a 350 chevy I'm needing help locating the temp sensor on this engine any help is greatly appriciated

Should be right in or near the upper radiator hose outlet.

the previous owners put an electric fan for the radiator in it and an aftermarket thermostat housing with and extra port for the temp prope for the fan that is the pink conection on top of the thermostat housing

In cylinder head, just under exhaust manifold....could be either side...That's if the manifolds pass over the spark plugs.....the other manifold type pass under plugs....

the temp gauge quit working and i thought it neede a new sending unit but i am having a hard time locating it

When you do, remove the wire, ground it, then turn ign on while watching gauge....if gauge rises, gauge and wire ok...don't leave the switch on longer then to do a quick test....if the gauge doesn't rise, it's the gauge or wire...Let us know the results or take a pic of intake manifold without the air cleaner on...

My manifolds run under the spark plugs and I'm not seeing it in the head on either side I tried to take pics best I could

Need pic straight down on intake manifold......so both cylinder heads have threaded plugs in them?

There were thermostat housings with two sender holes....maybe factory aluminum one was warped, so couldn't get one, and used the cast one.....there are two water passages that pass thru the intake, from head to head, at the front and rear, so if not there, then what I'd do is remove one of the cylinder head pipe plugs and install sender there....have you found the wire that would be used?...also a gauge takes a different sender then one with an idiot light

I finally found it is in the head on drivers side covered by spark plug wire holder thanks for all the help
|
