New here with 1972 Starcraft Wanderstar 200
Hi all!
I'm new to this site and I'm excited to learn from all of the knowledge here. We just bought our first camper - a 1972 Starcraft Wanderstar 200. It was used from 1972-1977 or so and then stored in a barn for 30 years. The interior is in great shape and it seems that the exterior is good, too. I have searched and searched and found no evidence of leaks. The man we bought it from put new tires on it recently. The upholstery is in great condition but i did ditch the heavy drapes because it was so dark. I painted some of the paneling to brighten it up a bit pulled up the ugly carpet to reveal vintage houndstooth green and yellow flooring. Most things that I've tried seem to work except the a/c unit and there is leak in the water supply for the toilet. We have a lot of paperwork that came with it originally including all of the manuals for stove, fridge, a/c, toilet, etc but no Starcraft manual. Does anyone have experience with a camper like this? Any idea where I can find a manual? I have searched and found no information on this camper anywhere.

Very nice looking trailer. I'd pay close attention to roof caulking as well as window seals. Even though it has been stored they might have dried out. Its much better to reseal now and eliminate any future damage.
Welcome to IRV2!

That's a beautiful trailer, and a great find. Starcraft has a good reputation for quality, and especially for customer service, and they're still around. I believe they're now owned by Forest River, but they've always been great at providing support for even their older products. They may be able to provide you with the manuals you want.

Wow- it looks like it's just about in mint condition.
Great find!
I can't see the flooring in your pictures- how about a shot of it?
I really like those old patterns...

Great looking. First order of business is to check all of the seams and windows for caulk issues. Next issue would be tires, brakes and repack the wheel bearing.
Welcome to iRV2.

Thank you! When we bought it the wheel bearings had just been re-packed and it has new tires. I will definitely check the caulking.

I'll have to take a picture of the flooring and post it. It is a green and yellow herringbone pattern and it's practically like new because someone had put a carpet over it.

That's just too "kool" ! I see it has the four lug wheels, they are out of production (I have them on my car trailer) and you may want to hunt one up for a spare. The only way you could improve on it is to have a vintage car or truck to pull it .

Just bought a 1973 222 model. I have a manual for that model. I can make a copy for you if you like.

I'm not sure from your picture but these may still be available for you to buy.
DEXSTAR 494 Steel Trailer Wheels
That is if they are the same size / style.

Wow, that would be great! I contacted Starcraft and never heard back from them so I'm still looking. Thanks!
