Hi Everyone! I just purchased a vintage 1981 Sunflyer winnebago. Great condition, but there's a few things that need to be fixed. Water heater, antenna handle to raise the antenna, I don't know a whole a lot about RV life style, but I'm so excited to get started!!

Hi Ed,

Welcome to the Forum! Please post a few pics of your Winnie. We love to see the oldies.

At the top of the page is an "Owner's Forum" and Winnebago owner's are in there. You may be able to get some answers there but you will get some here too.

Check out a thread called "Total Rebuild". Terry does a lot of work on these rigs and completely redoes them. He has videos on some of the things he has done. It's a long thread but worth the read.

YouTube can give you a lot of information on things like your water heater and antenna and basically anything you want to know. If you are completely new (and it sounds like you are), then just come back and ask whatever you want and we will help. There is no dumb question here.

You can use the "Powered by Google" search here and read old threads where others have asked and gotten answers. I learned a lot that way. We all have to learn and coming here was a great move on your part.

Look forward to seeing pictures of your rig. Lynne

Thanks!! I'll send some pics to you soon. Using my tablet instead of my phone, and I don't have any pictures yet. Heading over to the parking storage later today. The smoke is so horrible from all the fires it makes it almost impossible to do anything outside. I also believe I made a good decision signing up! Can't hardly wait to try out the travels!! Glad to meet you People, and TY for the info. I'm sure I'll be doing most the work myself, so I can happily use any information I can get. Have. A great day!!

Welcome to iRV2.

Smoke and air quality advisories , have been the norm , for the past 6 weeks here too , friends in Frenchtown have been house bound a lot of days due to potential health issues from it.
I'll pass on some good news ( for us anyway ) rain and cool here and more coming , over the next ten days , hope this helps as far inland as MT. as Frenchtown was on our route south for the winter.

Good info for beginners at this site.
