New to this- looking for tips... 1990 Mallard
Hello everyone,
I'm Joe and I recently acquired a 1990 Mallard Sprinter for the too good to pass up price of FREE! My Father in law owns a used car lot in Spring Hill, FL and I was there this past weekend for a brief visit. While there he tossed me a set of keys and said "go take a look at that rv over there".
It has 66k miles and starts right up. Everything appears to function (at first glance any way). There had been a leak in the front end of the roof which they had already repaired externally, but the ceiling inside over the bunk is gutted. Other than needing serious TLC, cleaning, and in my opinion some updates, it is in decent shape. Oh, the ladder is pretty much shot.
After looking it over, he tells me I can drive it home if I want it. Only condition is that I will let him and my mother in law use it when they visit. Deal! (I didn't end up driving it home, but I am flying down to bring it back after the holidays).
I have plenty of experience with home remodeling and repairs and can find my way through most basic automotive troubleshooting as well, so I'm not intimidated by the process ahead.
I would like some ideas and any advice from experience that you might have to offer. I'm sure there is a wealth of knowledge here. What should I watch out for? Where should I start? What have you done? Show me some pictures (I'm a photographer, so I always want to see pictures)?
