No VIN number found, No title- from old trailer new to me

the camper is in a backyard, been texting and writing that owner about buying the camper but she cant find the title. I have searched the the tongue- inside the tongue- the front frame, inside the kitchen area- and even around the galley sink- NO VIN to be found!

HELP

this maybe the END of this project before it ever started.

Take the license plate to your DMV (photograph it)they will give you the answers-if it belongs on the trailer

I like the picture of the license plate idea - IF - you are sure you know who it's registered to. If you are not so sure, I'd remove that plate soon. It could lead to unnecessary tail chasing (my opinion).

Worst case - I think you may find that you can have the trailer inspected by your local police department to get a new serial number - that you assign to it - kinda like registering a home built.

If they understand the situation, betting they'll be pretty accommodating.

It is called a VIN verification.

The dmv often subs it to the highway patrol in cases like this.

First check with dmv and ask for Vin validation then follow up with the instructions.

This is a common thing for them.

When I moved from Nebraska to Kansas, I had to have the VIN verified by the Sheriff. The sticker with it printed on it near the pin box had faded over the two decades to make it unreadable. After calling Jayco, I was able to find the VIN stamped on the frame under the trailer. It was on the second to the last frame cross member.

Bruce, I think this was a Keystone made in Sayre Pa, I have one and the numbers are stamped on the tongue , left side, close to the ball hitch on the top. Anyway mine are! Good luck!

please send photos of yours- any thing you could tell me- I would be very great-full-

I am thinking about purchasing this trailer and trying to fix it up but have been plagued by the lack of a title and VIN. number from the sellers part.

I have searched the internet for a couple years and have NOT found any trailer matching this one, the Shasta Astrodome is similar.

Thank you in advance

thanks for the picture, does it have the word "Keystone" on it somewhere ?, the one I am trying to purchase has this name above the window in the cab over section. these trailers filed for patent in 1962, apparently built in NY?, although their seemed to a dealership in Sayre, PA- this is very near NY, What is the inside arrangement of your camper?"mine is described in my post "new to me" old trailer?

Bruce, it has a booth and seats in front. There is a pull out couch on the door side with a small closet? In the opposite side rear. The countertop and three burner stove with fridge below is across from door. I will send more pics if I can.
