Norcold Refrig. Leaking Ammonia

I know an ammonia leak is a death blow.
What to do now???
Fix it, toss it, replace it???
I went to Brands Mart and found a compact fridge there that is almost exactly the same size and dimensions for 320 bucks.
It is a Haier #HRF08WND.
Width and depth, no problem, height 2 inch shorter, can fill that with trim or build up the floor, also not a problem
If I go that route the issue is, how the heck do I get the old one out?
Even if I was to repair it or buy a used one I still have to get it out.

Sorry to hear of your problem. Unfortunately we know all about this issue, as we had the same thing happen. One option is to keep the fridge but change out the failed Norcold recall ridden cooling unit for an Amish built unit. Check out our YouTube video:
Our Norcold to Amish Built Cooling Unit Change-out

Good Luck!

I had a Dometic that went bad that I replaced with a newer model of the same size. I was able to get them in and out through the door with the refrig. doors removed. If they will not fit through the door then the next option is to remove windows. Sometimes that is a side window and sometimes that is the windshield.
