OBT2 16 pin connector

I have been doing a lot of reading before purchasing a diagnostic reader for my 97 Ford F53 460 cu in Southwind 32V. It is confusing to say the least. Some specialists say that the 97 does not have OBT2 and instead OBT1. Also I am trying to locate the connector to hook up to a reader but do not know where to look. I am purchasing this device to try and diagnose why my E40D transmission does not want to shift into final overdrive as it was doing but now has stopped. There are so many different items to check so I thought that one of these readers may give me a code or codes relating to my transmission sensors. I drove it yesterday about 50 miles. Recently and since I have bought this coach my tach has indicated 2200 rpm at 55 mph.
That stopped and it now indicates 3000 rpm at 55 mph. I have tried shifting to neutral and back to drive several times but it has done nothing to help. The overdrive button works (light out) when shifting down on downgrades and the cruise control automatically up shifts on upgrades. Have any of you had this problem with your 97 Southwind 32 V with the Ford 460 cu in engine. What was your experience???? Thanks

Far as I know OBD2 was not implemented for the 5.7L (460CI) MFI engine. It was a EEC-IV based (OBD1) system.

I ended up buying an OBD 1 and 2. Looks like the OBD 2 will work on my Ford Ranger Pickup and Hyundai Azera. The OBD1 I will use on my Ford F53 chassis.
