Denise, you can't afford NOT to be pickie. By being pickie, you will find a rig that not only you like for livability but also be in good enough shape not to drain your wallet with repairs. Sounds like you have the sense not to rush into a purchase as you shut down the first 'Oh my gosh' deal when you found fault.

That's the idea, keep being pickie. I was a teacher for 30 years, often one of the only males in the school. I helped a number of fellow teachers shop for autos. It was actually fun, I had no 'dog in the hunt' and could sit back and observe, giving advice when asked. A few times I'd suggest we get up and walk out the door when the salesman was pushing too hard. It was amazing to hear the 'absolute best deal possible' suddenly getmetamorphized as we walked out the door! Find someone in the know to check out anything you are interested in and try to keep emotion out of the deal.

I found an RV on eBay, did my research and found 2 others almost identical for much more $. Either I was in for a deal or there was something wrong with it. I researched all the issues with that rig and found no issues, just a motivated seller. I'm happy!

Great! Watch out for beavers and termites. Nice that it has it's own laundry on the porch, a must for very Appalachian camper! I'd check the dates on the tires, though, a few might be out of date --- by a decade or two.

Solar dryer to boot and it looks like its wood fueled. very ecologically sensitive and would fit right in up here on Vancouver Island as well as in the deep south. What a versatile unit. Go for it.

I am almost 60 and plan to travel from Spring on, as long as I can. I hope to take tons of photos and basically work for temp services across the U.S. for extra money.

Feedback on the Van welcome, I can take the cons and well as the pros denise

Make sure you have a trusted mechanic check it over. For sure the belts are stiff if not rotten and the tires will also need replacement.
