Old Conquest-like new

Hi folks, My NEW 89 conquest runs great !

I'm missing the generator in the right rear. assume [it was an onan]
the controls are under the bed,the cables are in the rear compartment. the "box" was removed and now has a flush plywood floor.

The resultant compartment is 31 wide, 20 deep, but only 8 in high.

I'm going to get an onan and install it. finally to the question----

anyone know the make /model of their gen that came in their conquest,

OR the compartment size ?? i'm concerned about how much of the compartment hangs below the floorboards.

Thanks for your time chas b

Hi Chas,

I agree with Bap, would love to see some pics. Those here love the older rigs. Mine is a 2004 and doesn't qualify as vintage but I still love them. Might also help to go to the "Owner's Forum" to see if anyone there has an idea.

But post pics please. Lynne

Good luck with your hunt but the older Onan may be difficult to find a good one.

Many were quite loud as well.

Money better spent may be for newer quiet one

some moldy oldy pics

Hi TQ60, sending 4 pics. trying to figure out this messaging system.

maybe beamisl & bap will see these.

I think i'll have to try to find a CONQUEST forum. the location of their gen
and the size of the box are important, before I start sawing the backend apart.. I'm not really looking for an original vintage onan, altho the 4KW's are around in various yrs. & hrs. [& prices]. The little door [31" x 7 " ]
is all thats left to the old gen access . [passenger side behind the rear awning support]
Thanx for the visit. chas b

Reread op and an 8 inch tall compartment is not going to contain a genny.

Given a floor inserted and small door and someone suggesting installed from bottom it could be the genny hung below the unit and had some added housing.

The main load is the ac so determine your size then be sure to get one large enough but not too big.

Maybe use Google images to maybe find photos of your unit.
