I got the hinge installed. The locks and the hasp too!! I forgot my phone/camera so i didn't get any shots. Will tomorrow. I decided to leave the box out in the rain and all to see if there are any leaks. Good timing. Too much wind for primer and any paint. It will be maybe Wednesday before i can do much of anything. I got the fender and chrome bumper! Yeah!!!
Maybe by this coming weekend i will have the boxes done and Larry has a partial can of white he will give me. I can take the cap off, The stuff in the new boxes and then do some sanding and paint the inside of the Bed white. With the new boxes in they should look great!!
Well, that is about all i have. Will let you know what is going on with the weather, Dan

Thanks you fellow! I will be glad to see them in the truck and all painted. That maybe Wednesday or by the end of the week if i can stay on time. The weather is our time waster!! We are getting winds and rain right now. This stuff is said to be around till like Wednesday. Hope it goes before that. We even have a chance of that dirty 4 letter word....Snow.... It was 59 this morning and was near 80 today. Its colder here now than our morning low.
Anyway, see you later, Dan

Still on hold. Weather isn't very good today. we have seen almost everything you could see but a tornado and or a Hurricane. They say tomorrow it will be nice but below 32 tonight. Tomorrow it is supposed to be near 68 degrees.
On a different issue, The truck died on me Saturday evening. It stopped cold and i have battery power everywhere under the hood, nothing at all in the cab under the dash. I think it s a fuse link. Now i have to remember where it is.....

1st, The fuse link was the issue. I would say that a 40 amp fuse link is too small. It now has a 60 amp one in it. Fixed. The toolboxes stayed dry inside! I like that No sign of any water in it. I got my new front chrome bumper and cleaned it up and polished nice and pretty. Its a aftermarket one. they go for around $150.00 to $300.00. I also got he fender and i only paid about $20.00 bucks for a case of beer!!! Some folk just don't know what they have!! I have been seeing this other 69 running around and saw it at his home. I stopped by and talked for awhile and he had replaced the front grill with a chromed front grill! I got the old one!! Free!!! Can't beleave the luck i can have at times! Tomorrow i will start finish the prep work on the toolboxes and Friday i will paint them. They can sit for a week or so before i move them. Gives them a super hard finish as the sun will heat the metal up Just like they use in a paint booth. Larry has a used gallon of white that i can use for the inside of the bed of the truck. That way i can have that done when i put the toolboxes in. Getting close folks!! I am getting ready to enjoy the fruits of my labors. I will check in later, Dan

Man did i get stuff done today!! I wet sanded the inside of the toolbox and painted the inside of the new box. I also painted the drawers on the sides and bottom. i also got one side of that skirt for the gas tank. It can sit in the sun till Monday.
I also started working on that grill today. It does need some work and i gave it about 3-4 hours of banging and prying and bending and sweat... Its gonna come along. Will start into it again tomorrow. I will post a few shots below, Dan

Coming along great Dan! It will be about a week before my next paycheck to do anything to my rig. DW insisted we buy groceries with the last one.

Hummm, That kinda sounds like my Deb!! They just don't understand why it takes so much money to rebuild a home or truck or a Jeep... "It cost more than we paid for it....Comes to mind. got two rods of aluminum so tomorrow i get to braise the grill and finish it. The grill has lots of oxidation on it. i got some of it off. The places where it was cracked i backed up with brackets and pop riveted Tomorrow i will be trying to braise and finish it. Another piece i can put back in the finished list.
I have been having no luck around here finding another home yet. When it is right i will find it. I found a place that sells the disc conversion kits for the front and the back axles! Pricey but good to see they do make them. They will have them later i hope...Once i finish the grill i will show a couple shots. Later, Dan

Some new news today. We have a shot at getting another 5th wheel. It will need work but i think everything we need will be able to get from this motorhome. It has a fridge in it and a freezer. That will come in handy. Don't know what he wants for sure yet. I think he will go for it. Will keep you up on that later.
I got the toolbox painted and the rest of the drawers painted and i also painted the inside of the other toolbox. Looks pretty good for free! Will have shots below. I only have the outside of the front toolbox and i will be done with them.
I started to clean out the truck and get stuff we don't need right now in my storage shed. After that i cleaned the floor in it so i can grind the floor out and da the walls. I am getting ready to remove the cap. I think i am going to put it on craggs list and see if i can sale it. It is for fords, Long wheelbase.
With luck i should have the boxes in the truck and cap off by the weekend!!!! I am going to paint the inside of the bed maybe Thursday. By Saturday it will be pretty much done for this chapter... Next, the front of the truck and maybe our new to us home. Later, Dan

Well...Not a Layton 5th wheel...., But..Would a 34 foot Holiday Rambler Aluma-Lite 5th wheel work?? Its ours!! Have the keys in my Pocket!! I have some of the pictures of the outside but i will be cleaning out the trailer and doing a walk around the interior and will give you shots! It does need work but i have enough parts on the coach we can use all that in the 5th wheel.
On another issue, I got the cap off the truck today! I will be taking more shots tomorrow. I finished the paint on the toolboxes but for one bottom. Its last and i have just enough paint to finish that box. Looking close they are rough, but from say 10-15 foot away, they look like new. I will be painting the truck bed next week. I need the primer to do the bed before i paint it. I didn't grind any of the floor today. Will be Friday before i can get back to the truck. I have church things going on this Saturday and Sunday. Monday i will be back at it. Tuesday its payday!! I will get any parts i can then. Primer is at the top of that list. I want to get the bed painted and the toolboxes in and then i can take a break from it and turn my attention to the 5th wheel. Shots below, Dan
