Smile OLD vs. NEW?!?!

So...as I am a newbie here I have noticed RV'ers are basically in 2 camps...old model enthusiasts and new model enthusiasts. It seems it's like a friendly battle between the two camps (pun intended.) When and where do we draw battle lines?

I've been here almost a year and can't say as I have noticed any battle brewing. We all are here because we enjoy RVing and helping each other with RV issues. I as well as many others have RV's that aren't new and aren't vintage. In fact, I would say we are the majority of membership. Enjoy the site and the great people regardless of what they drive or tow. Safe travels.

I feel the same way!! The folks are kinda like family. For some..there only family. We enjoy the pleasures of rving and working on our homes on wheels. Those who are better equipped with a bigger wallet have the option of newer models. Thats one of the good things about rving, You can pay a little at a time or right up front. Either way we are still rvers. May you have a good one with whatever you have.

I'm lost. I've gone to look for me. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait.

I have an older MH by choice. Its paid for and not payments. I would love to own a newer MH, but can't see the need to have a payment. Will probably upgrade next year to newer if the budget allows. Those that can afford a newer MH that great, those that can't don't. Its a choice.

The vintage folks are kind of like a fraternity in some ways. The thing that binds them is the uniqueness of the older RVs.

We have had new and old and never saw any battles, except a few of the folks with the $250,000 Plus coaches can be a bit snooty toward an older neighbor...but they are few and far between.

We had a 1979 Silver Streak and beautiful 1989 Avion. There is nothing on the market today built to the quality of these Avions.

We were really torn about selling the Avion, but we are looking to go full time within the year and the Avion was too small, so we sold it and got a Carriage Cameo.

My wife and I really enjoy seeing the older rigs on the road and have a lot of respect to those that keep them rolling.

There are much more significant "battle lines" drawn on a whole host of other issues. New vs old isn't even in the top ten!
