Our new old Holiday Rambler
I'm a new rv'er. We have purchased a 1988 Holiday Rambler in September.
The wife and I have been working on it and haven;t ventured out yet.
It's a 28 ft Aluma-Lite with a tag axle. I pulled the Tag axle tires today and cleaned and greased the bearings. It has 62000 miles on it.
Will be ready for a camping test the week after Thanksgiving.

Congrats on your HR. I bought a 90 33' Monitor Class A in late July but have not had a chance to use it yet. Just going through things a little at a time when funds allow. Should be ready for spring.I HOPE

I bought an "88 HR year and a half ago. It was / is ready to roll. Haven't used it much yet, but have made some mods to it to suit me. I really like mine, hope you enjoy yours.

I have a 91 26' Alum-lite on a Ford chassis with the 460cc. It is in very good shape, many mods and replacements , but still original paint. We have traveled many miles in it, even to Alaska. It will treat you well, just take care of it.

hello me and my wife are restoring a 91 alim-lite but iot was titledin 96 it only has 13400 miles on it would u have any idea where I can get a manual on the wiring diagram thanks friend

I will send u some as soon as i figure out how to put them on here ok thanks i will take some more and when i clean itback out from moving 2 months ago illshow the in hey do u know if i can put a o/d transmisson inthis model i got a 92 coachman with a460 with o/d on the same frame only loner thanks

Sure looks like a twin to ours. I had a Gear Vendor Under/over unit installed. Was not a problem. They just have to shorten the drive shaft. If the coachman has the same ford tranny, then the adapter part can even be reused.

This is our 1991 Alumalite. Love it! I have the manuals and wiring diagrams plus all the original appliance manuals. I have replaced the vents, converter, put in an inverter, 3 12v 215 AH deep cycle batteries, redid much of the wiring, replaced some of the plumbing, new windshield wiper arms, new radiator and thanks to the tow company for the radiator a new transmission.

Our 1988 new (to us) Old Holiday Rambler Too
I find it kind of amazing how many of these have survived and are in use.
We are full timing in ours as we slowly try and fix her up. I do not have the mechanical aptitude to do some of the things that you are doing, but we plod along, read and learn. But we Love her.
I hope I don't get into trouble for this but we do have a NON COMMERCIAL blog about living in and fixing up our 1988 Holiday Rambler Alumalite Class A. We try and keep it informative and humorous with lots of pictures. The great biscuit house robbery down the hill from where we are parked is kinda funny

Great idea for your blog. I need a air dam and could use a new entrance door and screen, AC cover etc. I just replaced the cabinet thing a majigs. I live in a log home and I am an expert at using epoxy resin to restore wood. Ours had a rock or something tossed up through the undercarriage partially into the basement. Previous owner had the skin fixed but left the wood splintered. I sanded it down and then added a epoxy resin sawdust mix into the wooden hole and now it is stronger an better than the original plywood.
