Hey gang,

just put new front brake calipers on my 85 Pace Arrow (thanks for those that helped me identify my chassis!! that was most helpful)

Anyway,

i had my wife pump the brakes so I could bleed the new calipers. the driver side bled great, 3 times and I eliminate the air and had good fluid.

however, the passenger side, i got nothing... no air, no fluid, nothing.

I removed the brake line and had her press the brake, no fluid came out.

I checked the lines back to the master, so no signs of kinks, rust, leaks, everything seemed normal.

I removed the cover from the master cylinder, the fluid was low, about 1/2. I filled it up, but got same results.

MY QUESTION: I'm wondering what might be wrong? Bad master cylinder? bad proportioning valve? or something else??

anyone have any experience? please....

ill bet the rubber line is no good it wont cost anything to tell disconnect it completly not just on the caliper(remove from metal line) see if you cet fluid. this in common

Replace both front wheels rubber brake hoses. Don't just do the one side.

I'll put my money on this easy and cheap fix-

i forgot to tell him that thanks i just replaced mine after replacing calipers mine wiuld pull to left before i changed the lines they wernt that much seems like $25 each

I've also seen older cylinders that, over time, have accumulated so much garbage in the bleed orifice as to plug it completely - USUALLY a piece of wire or similar will clear it - but not always.

Quick and CHEAP check for the hose, is to simply disconnect or loosen it at the brake, and see if you can get fluid flow - if you CAN, the problem isn't there...

Thanks everyone for the comments, I do appreciate the help and words of wisdom and experience.

I'll stop and buy new lines tomorrow and put those on.

both lines seem to be flexible and in ok shape, didn't notice anything unusual about them, but the inside is what matters.

I'll post and let you know if the new rubber lines helped.

Thanks everyone! installed new brake hoses on front, was able to bleed the front brakes and head out for the weekend!

Thanks for the advise, it was definitely the brake hose causing my problems!!

Sometimes the hoses will be clear, but the will expand too much under pressure making your pedal spongy. Simple fix.

Use only OEM or NAPA hoses. Beware of Chinese Junk.
