Panasonic CRT Back up system power vs video

The Panasonic black and white camera/monitor systems use a "coax" appearing cable between the monitor and the camera in the rear, does anyone know which part of the plug provides the 12v power to the camera from the monitor and which is the return video signal? Or, if it trying to identify the roles of each conductor, would the video signal carry a 12v volt reading to ground? If the video signal is less than 12v, it would be easy to segregate the two, I am thinking.

I think if you check, there should be 4 wires going between the monitor and rear camera. On my old system, I carefully tested each wire and discovered a 12 v(+), 12v (-), a video feed and a ground for that. I cut the old plug off the cable at the dashboard and spliced the proper connectors for my new 7" LED color monitor. Try searching for a manual for your model of Panasonic system, you might be able to find an explanation of how your's is rigged.

Thanks, but my query is really what will I find in testing the video feed? Will it show a 12v or lower voltage?

The plug is polarized so the two wire run from the monitor to camera is obviously carefully segregated. Further, the ground must be at the camera (to chassis).

No, the manual only shows a composite two wire cabling from monitor to camera but no color coding of conductors in cable. They sell as a proprietary cable.

It's been a few years since I upgraded my system. As I recall I tested to find the video signal by hooking it up to the original B&W monitor I had pulled from the dashboard. I'm not sure if you'll find voltage, but you could check the wire for continuity from front to back of the RV.
