Hi There,
I hope someone here can help!....We (my 2 kids hubby and I) are traveling for 6 months in our 1980 Winnebago through Canada and the USA. We left May 1st....we are now in Oshawa Ontario and our left caliper seized and ground out the rotor beyond repair. The RV is on a 3 tonne Dodge Chassis, and the rotors are proving very hard to find. Does anyone know where we may find these....or how one could be modified to fit?...I hate this place and we are stranded here....any advice helps. Thanks!.

You might also try some of the RV salvage places. I hope you get it fixed.

You need to know if you have a M300 or M400 chassis. The rotors are different for each. M300 should be easy to find. M400 is another more difficult. M400 typically carried under KIC P/N 13382. Prices will vary from $250 to $400.
Try:
Merit Truck Parts and Wheel Co. 312-427-3788, Chicago, Il (least $ if they still have one) or

Arizona RV Salvage: Dodge RV Rotors and Brake, Body and Engine Parts Including M400, M500, and M600 Rotors or

Alretta Truck Parts: ATP Experience - products & views (typically the premium price for anything)

M400 rotor specs at bottom of this page on my website: Dodge MH Chassis Brake Parts - Drums/Rotors/Hardware

IIWMI'd get a full brake fluid flush (replacement) while changing rotors. Probably been a long time since fresh brake fluid in that 1980 rig. They'll have to mess w/fluid anyway. Probably 45 min. labor charge to pressure bleed all 4 corners.

I forgot to mention that the reason this happened is that the surface that the caliper slides on is a poor design. It is a simple metal to metal machined surface. It rust up resulting in the binding of the caliper (fails to release). I just had to clean mine up with emory cloth and apply a light grease on the slides. The clue for this is to drive about 10 miles then pull over and feel the wheel hub. If the caliper is binding (brakes always applied) the hub will be to hot to touch.
