Hi There,
I hope someone here can help!....We (my 2 kids hubby and I) are traveling for 6 months in our 1980 Winnebago through Canada and the USA. We left May 1st....we are now in Oshawa Ontario and our left caliper seized and ground out the rotor beyond repair. The RV is on a 3 tonne Dodge Chassis, and the rotors are proving very hard to find. Does anyone know where we may find these....or how one could be modified to fit?...I hate this place and we are stranded here....any advice helps. Thanks!.

You might also try some of the RV salvage places. I hope you get it fixed.

IIWMI'd get a full brake fluid flush (replacement) while changing rotors. Probably been a long time since fresh brake fluid in that 1980 rig. They'll have to mess w/fluid anyway. Probably 45 min. labor charge to pressure bleed all 4 corners.

I forgot to mention that the reason this happened is that the surface that the caliper slides on is a poor design. It is a simple metal to metal machined surface. It rust up resulting in the binding of the caliper (fails to release). I just had to clean mine up with emory cloth and apply a light grease on the slides. The clue for this is to drive about 10 miles then pull over and feel the wheel hub. If the caliper is binding (brakes always applied) the hub will be to hot to touch.
