Question Please help me ID this travel trailer/camper

Hello All,

I am new to this and purchased a camper a few months ago. I am having trouble ID'ing it. I do know that the tag (silver tag) says "OPEN ROAD INDUSTRIES", but I don't know where to go with that. Any Suggestions? Have one like it? I am running out of research ideas!

The manufacturer may be one of hundreds that disappeared before the advent of the internet, so info will be limited .
Was there any city mentioned on the tag?
Perhaps the best would be to try and locate info on the appliances , with brand and model info, most of the appliance manufacturers are still around.

Priscilla,

As I recall, Open Road Industries in El Segundo, CA died off during the great extinction of RV manufacturers in the mid 70's. (Remember the first Arab Oil Embargo?)

If you need to call it something, call it an Open Road (Insert Length Here) or make up something like a national park is always a good bet.

Whatever documentation you have will have to be supplemented by what you can download. There is a lot available if you search other than Google.

If there is something specific you need, ask here and at Tin Can Tourists.

Some campers have an information sheet inside one of the cabinets. Yours might be too old for that though... Looks like Open Road Industries was located in Indiana. The company proper may have folded in the late 1970's. There were more name changes and mergers later but none of that really helps you.
If you received a title and/or registration, that would at least give you the year.
It looks decent on the outside (for its age) except for some fading paint. How's the inside?

See if you can find a guy named "Bap" here.

He has redone a lot of TT's over the years and he might be your best bet on what this is.
He isn't on often but maybe you can PM him.

Good luck!
