Here's my old one. 1970 Winnebago Indian.



It was falling apart, so I traded it for an ATV and replaced it with a 1994 Fleetwood Flair 22D.

oh they are both bueatiful , be nice to have one of those , I think I would have tried to fix up the old one, they dont make um like they used to, I like the old school ones

The old ones sure do have character. Be good to see someone bring it back to life.

Having our 87 bounder got a soft spot for the older ones , but love the look of the Flair too! Its cute..

Unfortunately, the only good thing about it was the engine and transmission. The roof leaked terribly, the body was sagging on the frame and you could feel the walls move in and out as you were driving down the road. The generator needed to be rebuilt, the water heater needed to be replaced, the refrigerator and furnace worked when they felt like it and the steering gearbox needed a seal that is no longer available. I'm much happier with the Fleetwood. It would've taken me as much money to fix the Winnebago as I paid for the new one.

Just purchased this non-runner - electrical problems in the dash that I'm fixing - paid $2200 and it only has 47,000 miles so hopefully I'm on to a winner

The previous owner must have had a roof seam leak (aluminum roof) as they tried to paint the roof liner/ceiling and it looks c**p - so that's definitely a job for the professional upholster I think.

I just ordered 100' of 4" eternabond which I'll do the seams with and then a couple of nice smooth coats of elastomeric should seal it good.

There are a few small things that I'd like to swap out when I get her running - two new Coleman AC/Heat units to replace the old noisy ones and a new magic chef cooktop too. Everything else is just a case of cleaning it up, buffing, polishing and revarnishing.

Should look good when it's finished and be a talking point at the campgrounds

Hmmm...Maybe I should mention the dash is usually found inside the coach, near the steering wheel...

Great news from the shop today - replaced battery cables and new starter and she runs!!!

Now replacing 25 year old fuel lines, draining the tanks and maybe a new fuel pump and we should then be good to go

Next job is to find a replacement AC condenser and receiver/dryer which a previous owner seems to have mislaid - it was absent without leave

Here's a pic of my '84 22' Winnebago Chieftain taken the other day at Sandy Beach campground in Rio Vista, Ca where my wife and I spent a couple of days camping and fishing.
