Hey, has anybody gone wild and converted from gasoline to propane? What about fuel injection?

I believe the advantages for both would be that you get better gas mileage and maybe some more power? EFI would run better at altitude.

Disadvantage of propane would be availability.

I wonder if fuel injection would be worth it? I converted my Bronco over (explorer short block) to to use the Mustang fuel injection. Wasn't too bad. I wouldn't enjoy working in this engine bay quite as much though.

Thoughts??

....propane is more expensive than gasoline now...also less power and there is the road tax issue.....geofkaye

Our 84 Toyota is under powered. Is a nitro system practicle? I really don't expect much encouragement, but I thought I would ask.

Uhhh, I don't know if you're trying to be funny to make a point or not but NOS is hard on a motor, especially w/ that kind of weight. You might want to have the motor gone through and built to take that before putting it on and hitting the go button.

As mentioned, propane is no longer economically feasable for motor vehicle use. The cost per gallon is way up compared to several decades ago when you saw alot of propane converted pickups. The annual tax stamp (permit) is also now very high. The benefit of a very clean burning fuel that made engines last forever is still there, but now unaffordable. Sadly diesel's increasing cost and the MPG decline we are seeing with the newer cleaner burning diesel engines seems to be pushing diesel down the same road that propane went down. I'm glad I have a diesel but what will be the situation in ten years?
