I posted this in the Monaco owner's forum and realized that my '89 coach qualifies for the possible resources in the "vintage" section (OK, it will officially turn 20 next month ):

My wife and I recently purchased an '89 Crown Royale 40'/31K GVW/Roadmaster/Cummins L10-300. I contacted Monaco regarding the towing capacity and tongue weight because it's not printed in any of the literature that I have or on the receiver and they said that it's only 5000lb. / 500lb. That seems really low for the size/chassis/motor configuration of the coach. Is this a conservative estimate or is it related to the rear axle/rear suspension?

I'm looking to use a hitch mounted dual motorcycle rack and was thinking that this was more like a class IV with 1000lb. tongue weight.

Any first hand experience or wisdom is appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
