I used Liquid EPDM to do some patching and as a sealer around the edges where the rubber roof meets the aluminum round over. I only did spots as I was in a hurry and plan to go back and do the entire roof this spring.
This stuff works great... and really works good as a seam sealant (as apposed to self-leveling lap sealant.
I did use the primer as recommended... and will do so when I recoat the entire roof this spring.
Here is a link to their website: Liquid EPDM

RV Customer Testimonials - EPDM Coatings, Liquid Roof, Liquid Rubber
Not sure what your type of original roof your talking about, but for original EPDM roofs from any manufacturer, I believe it is a viable and very good product. The website covers many application issues.
Mine was a 1997 Newmar with the traditional plywood and EPDM roof combination.

OloGuyRich, One of the reasons I went with EPDM coatings was it required painting the roof one time (no painting with primer, then painiting again with coating)
With the EPDM coating, I cleaned the roof, When I was ready to paint the roof, I mixed the hardner with the coating paint, I had about 3-4 hours to paint the roof as the coating slowly started to cure (harden) and became thicker and thicker as it cured.

Mine. No primer. Had just completed replacement of the forward 8 feet of the roof. Used tape around outside of metal edging and pulled it wet.

Roof coating
Love the look of a crisp clean white roof. Your TLC will go a long way in keeping you dry.

We used the EPDM Rubber Roof coating and it looked fantastic for the first couple of months. But it began to get gray streaks and splotches after a few months that have continues to get worse as time goes buy. While it does appear to be sealed well, it actually looks worse than before we applied anything. EPDM has been of NO HELP in resolving this. I have attached a photo of the roof 10 months after applicaton. The entire roof looks like this and no amount of cleaning will remove the spots. The application was gone 100% according to EPDM instructions. Chuck

Recoating rubber roof
Mine has dulled also but is well sealed. I clean mine with Spic and Span and use a rubber roof conditioner a couple times a summer.
I think they all oxidize from the sun to some degree.

coating rubber roof
ok. now have a really important question. I have a leak in one window. I originally assumed the coating(Dicor, etc) would fix that leak. now i am reading that it will not. It is designed to make it LOOK new- not Stop a leak on the roof. Can one of you straighten this out? How would YOU fix a leaky roof? I really need to get this fixed before rainy season. Thanks

Leak in a window? Or a leak through the roof?

But you don't expect it to happen in 10 months. Chuck
